Tom Holland says he couldn’t get the script for the next Spider-Man movie while everyone else at the studio had already read it. “I was shooting ‘The Odyssey’ with Christopher Nolan.” “I kept blowing up the studio saying, ‘Guys, can I get the Spider-Man script?’” “They kept telling me, ‘It’s not ready. Tom Holland: I could never express how grateful I am to Chris for giving me that opportunity to give Zendaya that information. The drive home for me was so exciting, I was just buzzing. When I came in the door, she was so excited to hear about how the meeting went. Robert Pattinson: Oh, so he told you on your first meeting? Oh, wow. Tom Holland: Yeah. We had read the script together the night before, which I don't think I should've really told people because I don't know if I'm supposed to do that. At my meeting, Chris asked, "Would you be offended if I asked Zendaya to play Athena?" I'm like, "Why would I be offended?" Robert Pattinson: "You know what? Forget the whole thing." Joaquin Phoenix’s Oscar-nominated performance as Commodus in Gladiator was one of the first things I thought of after seeing Robert Pattinson’s performance as Antinous in The Odyssey. Cowards…played to perfection. I would love nothing more than to see Pattinson earn an Oscar nomination for Nolan’s latest. Pattinson- like Phoenix- was so easy to hate.

Terry Gilliam on how he dreamt up 'Brazil' (1985): "1984 was approaching and I thought it was time to do the cautionary tale, to do 1984 for 1984. I haven't actually read Orwell. But, I mean, I know the book. It was more Kafka than Orwell I was thinking of; the atmosphere of Kafka intrigues me more, the inability to get hold of this thing that seems to be controlling or determining your life. It was interesting that the thing ended up being as close to the story of 1984, because I didn't plan it that way. It just seemed to be close to the natural course of events. I had a script that no one was interested in giving me any money for, So I wrote 'Time Bandits' with Michael [Palin], and after the success of that, people said, "Well, now you can really do all sorts of things." They were saying I ought to do something like a follow-up, that it would work well to do another romp. And I figured it was time to do the one that no one would give me any money for."
