Ok, so the new Midjourney Style Tuner is here and it's a MASSIVE update. There is so much to unpack, no way I can do it all in one post, but here is an overview. You start by typing in /tune followed by your prompt. MJ will generate a range of sample images (between 16-128) showing different visual styles based on your prompt. Then you choose your favorite images from the sample to generate a unique code you can use to customize the look of future jobs. (link below) So for example, I just tried it with the prompt: 💬 1990s, a photo of a woman dressed in fuzzy velour, shimmering midnight hues reflecting sadness by the lake, a contemporary nightmare on cross-processed film --ar 4:5 --c 4 I selected 10 images, which generated the code zlPhgLCHDXol64kPlwSUzu97. I can then add it to my prompt using --style {code} But it makes more sense if you try it yourself, so try playing around with my Style Tuner for that prompt and generate your own code from your selections: Some quick notes: -You can control the level of style applied by adding the --s parameter to your prompt. -You can combine multiple styles together by separating with a hyphen, i.e --style code1-code2 I will be obsessing over this all day tomorrow and sharing everything I learn along the way. Anthropic just released a talk on building headless automation with Claude Code. Presented by Sid Bidasaria, Member of Technical Staff at Anthropic live at Code with Claude on May 22, 2025 in San Francisco. Here is what the talk covers. Headless mode lets you run Claude Code without a person actively typing prompts from inside an automated script. Instead of a live session, a script calls Claude with a pre-written instruction using the -p flag. This opens the door for Claude Code to become a piece of a much larger, automated process. In plain terms: Claude Code stops being a tool you use and starts being a service that runs on its own. What this unlocks: Scheduled tasks: Run Claude Code on a cron schedule without anyone at a keyboard. Fix linting errors across an entire codebase. Automatically. Overnight. CI/CD integration: Trigger Claude Code as a step in your build process. Open a PR. Claude reviews it, flags issues, and pushes fixes before a human ever looks at it. $One of the most tedious (but critical tasks) for software development teams is updating foundational software. It’s not new feature work, and it doesn’t feel like you’re moving the experience forward. As a result, this work is either dreaded or put off for more exciting work—or both. Amazon Q, our GenAI assistant for software development, is trying to bring some light to this heaviness. We have a new code transformation capability, and here’s what we found when we integrated it into our internal systems and applied it to our needed Java upgrades: - The average time to upgrade an application to Java 17 plummeted from what’s typically 50 developer-days to just a few hours. We estimate this has saved us the equivalent of 4,500 developer-years of work (yes, that number is crazy but, real). - In under six months, we've been able to upgrade more than 50% of our production Java systems to modernized Java versions at a fraction of the usual time and effort. And, our developers shipped 79% of the auto-generated code reviews without any additional changes. - The benefits go beyond how much effort we’ve saved developers. The upgrades have enhanced security and reduced infrastructure costs, providing an estimated $260M in annualized efficiency gains. This is a great example of how large-scale enterprises can gain significant efficiencies in foundational software hygiene work by leveraging Amazon Q. It’s been a game changer for us, and not only do our Amazon teams plan to use this transformation capability more, but our Q team plans to add more transformations for developers to leverage.$
