Robin Williams improvised so much on Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) that the footage could produce PG, PG-13 and R-rated cuts. After 2–3 scripted takes, he would ask to “let me play” and did 15–22 variations per scene, producing upto 2 million feet of film and 972 boxes of outtakes.

It didn’t fit.” Weir did cut Williams loose for what he calls Keating’s “creative radiation bombardment” lectures. For the first time Keating faces the seven young poets in the classroom, Weir asked Williams to read a bit of Shakespeare aloud and wing it from there. “I had two cameras going, obviously, and I just said, ‘Boys, this is not a scripted scene. According to Terry Gilliam, Robin Williams' character in "'The Fisher King' (1991) is in many ways the closest one to Robin, just that range — the madness, the damage, the pain, the sweetness, the outrageousness. That was the role I think that stretched him to the limits." Gilliam considered the filming of this important scene in the movie to be easy as far as effects were concerned, but as for acting, it was very hard as Robin Williams was tearing himself out emotionally. About how Robin Williams approached the scene, Gilliam said, "The interesting thing about Robin in all of those scenes was that he always wanted to do another take. He felt he had even more anguish and pain to spill out of the character. And I had to really stop him. I had to say, ‘Robin, you’ve reached a point here, way beyond what we expected. We’ve got what we needed. Now you’re just hurting yourself. That happened a couple of times while we were shooting this scene. The most worrisome moment for me was after he’s been chased by the Red Knight, when he’s running through the streets, and then he comes to the river, where the teenage punks arrive and knife him. We had to do other things on that night shoot, too, and things were going very slowly. Suddenly, we realized that we had like an hour until the dawn [would arrive]. The last shot we had to do was Robin running at the end of this scene, in this hysterical state. You can even see the light ever so slightly beginning to come on the river in the background. But Robin was so angry because it was such a crucial moment, and he felt he’d been cheated of his ability to really give this moment his all. And Robin was an incredibly strong guy: When he’d worked himself into this state of madness for the part, nobody could approach him. The first assistant, the stunt guy … nobody wanted to get near him. They were terrified. So, I had to go up there and tell him, ‘Robin, what we have here is very good. And if we look at the rushes and it isn’t, I promise you I will reshoot it.’ And I had to hug him basically, and hold him. I could feel these muscles that were so tense and so strong, they felt like they could easily r!p my he@d off. With Frodo returning for the new Lord of the Rings film, I was reminded of this classic Graham Norton clip with Elijah Wood and Robin Williams. Elijah casually mentions that Hobbiton is a real place you can actually visit. Graham laughs it off and says it’s not, and then Robin Williams takes over and runs with it like only he can 😂 At the end, as Graham is mocking Hobbiton again, Robin says to him: “Good luck getting into New Zealand, asshole!” 😭 Robin really was a legend on chat shows, so quick, unpredictable, and endlessly entertaining.

This is crazy. It reminds me of 2011. Friday, 26 August 2011. Last day of Census training at IUM in town. Gazza's wife, pregnant at that time, was our Supervisor. Everybody left except me and 3/4 ladies. She asked that I help her carry boxes to a car outside. I carry 3 heavy boxes, one on top of the other. I get to the street and there's only a white KIA sedan in parallel parking with Gazza inside. I walked to the car, standing outside the front passenger side with boxes, talking to him. He looks at me and continues operating on his phone. I leave him alone. He doesn't know me, so I get it. I kept standing and waiting for the wife who was carrying her bag and 2 more lighter boxes. The wife comes. The guy opens the boot and remains seated. The wife puts down her boxes, opens the boot and one by one takes off 2 of the 3 boxes I was carrying , loading them into the boot. We loaded hers, she thanked me, got in the car, and they drove off. Maybe that's just how Gazza acts/acted back then - unresponsive.

Do not work with DarkViperAU. After going through 4 1/2 hours of footage and editing that down into a 27 minute video, waiting over a week for him to respond, he told me the edit was unusable. And not worth either of our time to try and fix. Then told me he would not pay me.

Let me just start by that" "Tom did his audition for Spider-Man and I did my audition for Punisher. Bridges says many scenes didn't have finished scripts when the cast arrived on set. > "We would often come to work, and there would be no script for that scene that day." Let me give you a wild alternate timeline of yesterday’s Masters. Patrick Reed missed the playoff by 2 shots. On 13, he had this 3 foot putt for birdie. He would somehow 3 putt, a 2-shot swing. In the alternate evil timeline, he makes this, goes into the playoff, and beats Rory. Yassir buys him a yacht. Justine finally gets luxury seats to a baseball game. LIV takes over all of golf and EDM noises becomes our national anthem. Pants are outlawed and all golf becomes shotgun golf. Saved from all that because his putter face closed a degree!
