As a trailer composer the trailer music is almost always separate from the film score but this is an odd use, before my time. Thinking this type of thing was more common before trailer music publishers were prolific.

Fascinating. Trailers are such an art form to me. Can I ask — in the industry, are there actual dedicated people making trailers, or does the movie director and editor weigh in? It’s such a marketing vehicle, I suspect it’s on that side of the business to promote the film.
