@BrianRoemmele Biomimetic whisker sensors, pioneered by Hartmann (2001), achieve remarkable tactile sensitivity. Their piezoelectric arrays detect forces as small as 0. 07mN - comparable to real rat whiskers.

My senior project in 1990 was a tracked vehicle for carrying a submersible pump into oil tanks. My first sketch had 'feelers' on the front, flexible steel strips with strain gages to detect obstacles. Our advisor said "how many years do you want to work on this?" No feelers.

It is powered by LG's Exaone visual language model, high-end Korean actuators, and a multi-tactile dexterous hand. The humanoid robot is scheduled to be released in November of this year. LG announced its entry into the home humanoid robot market at CES 2025, but first unveiled an AI robot codenamed Q9 as a base model.
