The All-In Podcast discussed Figure's AI breakthrough this week I believe this AI breakthrough was essential to enabling a billion robots on the planet - allowing humans to communicate with them and have them carry out actions Helix, our internal AI model, powers the Figure 02 robot. The robot can now generalize to objects it has never seen before and can semantically plan responses to spoken commands, such as "put the groceries away where you think they should go" It’s important to note: the robot’s actuators are not the limiting factor. Right now, both dexterity and actuator speed are constrained by the software. In fact, the actuators are capable of operating at more than 5x their current speed, but our software is holding them back. Over time, as Helix improves, the robot will ultimately surpass human speeds I like these guys. Looking forward to having Chamath Palihapitiya at Figure HQ to see these robots in action!

A Taiwanese startup is rethinking what a SCARA robot can do. They developed a robot that outperforms typical SCARA models in speed, stability, and space efficiency. Unlike most conventional arms, it can also move smoothly through singularity positions, where many robots lose control or need complex workarounds. That matters more than it sounds. Singularity limits often prevent standard industrial robots from handling certain tasks. Solving it could unlock more advanced automation in tighter, more demanding spaces. Schaeffler is bringing UK's humanoid robots from concept to factory reality. Within the next 5 years, hundreds of humanoid robots will be deployed in Schaeffler's global factories, with beta versions first implemented in 2026–2027. Schaeffler is also becoming the preferred supplier of joint actuators for the humanoid wheeled platform and is jointly exploring next-generation actuator architectures with its partner. More importantly, the two companies will collaborate deeply on data and skills: continuously accumulating real-world manufacturing data through teleoperation, synthetic data, and peripheral data acquisition robots to train AI models, enabling humanoid robots to learn faster and perform more reliably in the factory.
