While Tamil Nadu won't stop attracting data centres, it will focus on smaller, AI-specific data centres that better suit the state's highly educated workforce. Certain data centres (referring to a Google project in Andhra Pradesh) were built in specific locations primarily because of existing undersea cable infrastructure. And we all know who runs the existing infrastructure there. Bottom line: Tamil Nadu will not join a "rat race to the bottom" by giving away land for free or providing excessive incentives just to win an investment.
