I have absolutely awful news... Two Americans and MAGA Trump voters in Charlotte NC have just been k*lled by a drunk-driving illegal immigrant from Mexico. He is labelled as a "WHITE CAUCASIAN" male in the arrest records, despite being a Mexican illegal alien. Their names were Rodney Quinn and Dana Osborne. He was 66. She was 63. On Saturday, October 24th, around 6:30 in the evening, they were riding down Moores Chapel Road in west Charlotte. Police say a Honda Pilot turned left out of a driveway onto Moores Chapel Road... right into their path. Police say the driver FAILED TO YIELD. Rodney tried to stop his motorcycle, but it wasn’t enough. The Harley hit the front corner of the Honda, went down on its side, and both of them were THROWN into the road. They were wearing DOT-approved helmets, they did everything right. But sadly, paramedics pronounced them both DE*D at the scene. The driver of the Honda? Police say he had NO INJURIES. His name is Jose Salas Tzompaxtle, and he’s 36 and an illegal alien from Mexico who has been arrested TWICE before for driving without a license, and was never deported. Say their names. For all the people whining that critiques of Nolan's Odyssey are just chuds trying to stay mad about ancient texts being modernized... Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet (1996) took a foundational text of Western society and updated it for modern audiences. The cast was diverse to reflect inner-city gang rivalries which were making headlines at the time, and it was set in the heart of these troubles in Verona Beach. Handguns were called "knives" and long guns called "swords". Everything was set against a totally contemporary backdrop. You'd think everyone would be up in arms and furious, right? Wrong, it was generally well received by critics and home audiences. It earned $132.8 million in profits. All because it kept the original spoken script of Shakespeare's play spoken by present-day people, and stayed true to the source material. It was an interesting take on a classic that had swag and didn't subvert the original for weirdo antisocial political agendas. All you have to do is not fundamentally hate the story you're trying to tell (or the culture it comes from) while making a concerted effort to make it shittier. Make actual art and people will be just fine with it. Who knew?
