Roger Federer returns to tennis' biggest stage 🤩

Roger, you have been horribly missed. He last walked off this court on 3 September 2019 — beaten in five sets by Grigor Dimitrov, ranked 78th, after a medical timeout for his back before the decider. Nobody in the building knew that was the last time. He was 38 and talking about coming back. Then two knee surgeries, no US Open in 2020 or 2021, and a Laver Cup doubles match with Nadal in September 2022 that he lost. His record here: 89–14 from 19 appearances. Five titles in a row, 2004 to 2008. Nobody has repeated that at Flushing. Great careers almost never end where they were biggest. His finished in London, in doubles, in front of a crowd that came to watch him say goodbye rather than win. Ashe never got that night. Seven years later it gets one.

@rogerfederer Literally what is WRONG with y'all (not you, social media person 👍) streaming every practice live on YouTube except for this one? Every live chat is full of people screaming for Roger lol

@rogerfederer He is the Goat

@rogerfederer Where can we watch live?

@rogerfederer Of course it would have been a nice gesture to withdraw in protest of the wild card denied to the "other" Swiss but here we are...

@rogerfederer 🐐

@rogerfederer Men’s Pros breathe a sigh of relief that Mr GOAT Federer retired. The last thing we need is more competition. The Men’s field of tennis talent is thick enough. Lol But we are always glad he is here!

@rogerfederer Federer turning up for a wave round the court hardly sets the pulse racing. Prefer a quiet frame of snooker myself.
