X-men 97 was such a bogus retcon to the original series. Rogue's whole arc of not being able to touch people was already resolved, Gambit and her had kissed, Gambit confessed his love for her, Magneto was not a love interest he was another mutant to get punched in the face.

I miss the old style animation. The new one is too silly looking
