Steroids do give you real strength, but arm wrestling is a speciality sport. Arm wrestlers develop enormous strength in a particular set of muscles. Not to mention that there is also technique involved.

Every now and then this video pops up on the timeline with people going all "real strength" and "don’t judge a book by its cover", acting like the bodybuilder was being cocky with Akimbo. Dude literally opens with “no no he’s gonna break my hand” and “I can see his arm” — like, the guy was being super chill and humble. The real joke? They're out here preaching “don’t judge by the cover” while judging the bodybuilder by his freaking cover. Here’s the original video and a pic of the “weaker” dude:

Roids absolutely give you real strength The guy on the left is a one trick pony who trains specifically to arm wrestle and really only trains one arm at that He takes roids also

This was all technique. The guy on the left had his shoulder and elbow locked in place. His entire arm moved as a solid unit (shoulder moves in sync with his hand). This allows him to use the strength of most of his upper body. The guy on the right leans back a couple of times, showing that his elbow is not locked. He tries to twist his elbow to maneuver his hand down, relying purely on forearm strength.

I'm pretty sure you fundamentally don't understand how steroids work.

what it means if the guy on the left has very strong grip strength, meanwhile the guy on the right could beat him to a pulp

I love how arrongant the right guy was when he lifted up the left guy's sleeve and got owned in arm wrestling

That's a very dumb thing to say.

Arm wrestling is specialized strength and technique. There are videos of 300 pound strong men competitors losing to guys much smaller in arm wrestling despite those guys being nowhere close to them in overall strength.

“Roids” don’t give you real strength . Spoken like a true person who never took steroids.

Because goofy ass arm wrestling is a show of true functional strength 🙄

This is due to tendon strength being superior to muscle strength in terms of withstanding loads and transmitting force. This is why calisthenics is superior at overall fitness than strength alone. Best use of your time is to train for strength and calisthenics.

Extreme rock climbers achieve similar sorts of strength over a wider range of muscles but have lower muscle volume. Interesting area of topic.

They do , the guy on the left is obviously stronger than the one on the left , its just that the guy on the left trains for that specific movement/ sport

Arm wrestling is a particular skill set. It requires technique. It's like saying because someone can throw a baseball harder they are stronger.
