Imagine a city with high buildings that often have two ground floors. trains running straight through buildings and emerging from the other side; and a 300‑meter-long glass corridor stretching horizontally across the top of a skyscraper. To witness this surreal urban landscape, PKU Guanghua student Carolin Esser from Germany set out to meet her friend Yang Rui (Yuri) from PKU in Chongqing. And a new journey into China's Wonderland thus began.

For her Urban Design Project, Carolin Esser, a German student at Peking University Guanghua School of Management, reached out to her friend Yang Rui (Yuri) from the 2020 cohort of Peking University School of Foreign Languages. A simple call soon turned into a weekend in the 8D magic city, Chongqing.
