David Davis is a chump. Rock-solid gold-plated no-notes chump. And it is beyond insulting to the rest of us that he and his arrogant EU-phobic brexity mates thought they could offer us better, alone, than we would have working in collaboration with our neighbours. As if.

This interview does nothing to quell the sense that David Davis is an utter charlatan who foisted enormous unnecessary damage onto the UK through his role in Brexit. Wish you’d challenged his bs and bluster more than you did

@campbellclaret @RoryStewartUK I don’t know why you both wasted your time speaking to David Davis. Like all Brexiters, Davis is an arrogant, pompous, out-of-touch liar and fantasist who is completely oblivious to the real world and how it works: and the UK’s place in it #Brexit

He’s really not worth interviewing. He can’t even respectfully work with the flow of the conversation.

Let’s face it, he will never ever admit he was wrong.

And this is why he and others like him should have been nowhere near the levers of power. Uncomfortable in the existence of evidence, defensive when challenged with the truth. Brexit was the wrong idea very much the wrong time.

Brexit was a bad idea, implemented badly, by bad people, in bad faith. But David Davis is an enigma: useful idiot; hubristic patriot; both? It doesn't actually matter: he, like all the prominent Brexiters, need to confront the fact that they were wrong & begin to make amends.

We once heard from someone involved in the Brexit negotiations for the EU side that David Davis' incompetence was matched only by his arrogance. The EU side were amazed he managed to get his giant ego through the door.

David Davis is a bumbling buffoon of an MP who doesnt seem to understand anything, but always thinks he does, a catastrophically bad minister for brexit. Shocking that he managed to cling on to his seat.

1) why didn’t you call his constant diversion? Every time you got near a point he was visibly uncomfortable on he weaseled away and you let him 2) why don’t you cut through the typical DD pseudo-intellectual waffle and ask him for expected GDP gains/losses from CPTPP v Brexit!!
