There is no doubt Jai Opetaia is an incredible signing for Zuffa Boxing, but we have to be honest: a lot of this is very, very confusing and contradictory. I don’t think anyone saw this coming. Jai’s first words about the signing were that he wants to go for undisputed and unified, which again runs counter to everything TKO has been saying over the past few months — namely, “We don’t care about those belts.” I can sit here and dissect every single move, and a lot of them have been contradictory, but it’s all going to work out in the end because they’ve got the platform, they’ve got the money, they’ve got the backing, and they’ve got the all-stars leading the charge.

Tomorrow marks the last game in a place that has been so much more than concrete and football for our family. This stadium holds decades of memories cheering together in the stands, so much fun and laughter, tears too, and watching generations of kids come through Jim’s football camp here for more than 30 years. So much life. So much joy. So many memories made together. While we’re grateful for all that’s ahead and the memories still to come, it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to a place that has meant so much to our family and countless fans who made every home-game (win or lose) the absolute best.
