very very cool, i wonder if laying it on its side would help with rigidity, but it would make sample attachment harder

Probably! But yeah, vertical is easier and once aligned there aren't any moving parts up there I'll probably make a sheet metal bracket that bolts to the frame and helps support the cage. Just wasn't quite sure of dimensions when designing the frame, so waited on it

I'm f*ing jealous :) And it's soo smooth! Fwiw, I also bought some piezo inchworm actuators for fine focus. They have a resolution of 7-10 nm.

Put some chips on it and do three separate images with green, red and blue laser.. combine the image's on imageJ or Fiji 😛 You can have some good colorful chip images 😁

Might try that! Unfortunately the blue channel is now ultraviolet so the images might look a bit wonky 😅

so it’s like a microscope but you can observe from a screen?

Technically yes, but the real purpose is to make patterns in photoresist. The red light is used to align the wafer, and then you turn on the ultraviolet light and display a pattern on the projector which is transferred to the photoresist.

are you using an off-the-shelf DMD devkit?

Yep! Mine is the DLPDLCR471TPEVM: Easier than tearing open a projector, and basically a complete system compared to buying just the DMD and driver board.
