Every aircraft is designed around a finite fatigue life, not just years in service but cycles of pressurization, takeoff, and landing. You cannot fly an aircraft for ever even if you swap them with new engines, the airframes have a definite lifespan.

When Finnair retires an aircraft it goes to the paint shop and all recognizable livery is painted over. Marketing don't want anyone taking pics of wrecks in company colours. Seems all companies don't share that concern?
