The Fibonacci sequence has a hidden rhythm. Take any number say, 7. Write out the Fibonacci numbers (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8...) and look at the remainders when you divide by 7. You get: 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 1, 6... Keep going, and the pattern eventually repeats. The length of that repeating cycle is called the Pisano period. For most numbers, this cycle length is pretty unpredictable. But we proved something precise. If you ask "when does the cycle length equal exactly twice the number?" The answer is an infinite tower. 12, 60, 300, 1500, 7500...just keep multiplying by 5. But if you change the question slightly "when does the cycle length equal twice the square root?" there is exactly ONE answer. 144. Same skeleton. Two completely different outcomes. The culprit? The prime number 5 ,which has a weird superpower in Fibonacci land. it's the only prime that divides its own cycle length. In one equation it fits perfectly and builds an infinite tower. In the other, it overflows and gets kicked out leaving 144 all alone. Fun fact. 144 is also the only perfect square (besides 0 and 1) that appears anywhere in the entire Fibonacci sequence. Two totally different math questions from two totally different fields converging on the exact same number. Ass Bench Update 🚨 After running GPT 6 Astra in a loop for the past week, with a couple of steers a day, we have officially reached high-fidelity cheeks. I’m going to let this thing run in a self-improving cycle for as long as I can and see where the ass technology ends up in a month. Lots of different butt styles will be added, so no one is safe. Not even you, Granny. You’ll also be able to support the project and help fund the benching of other models like Fable, Gemini, etc. All it takes is a buck, and you can slap your sticker + website directly onto a cheek. When the C219 CLS launched in 2004, it invented a body style that every other manufacturer spent the next decade trying to copy. Four doors, a fastback roofline, no B-pillar, and frameless windows, none of which existed together in one car before this. The CLS 500 came with the 5.0L M113 V8, 306 HP and 460 Nm, fitted with two spark plugs per cylinder for a more even burn across the combustion cycle. It was built on the W211 E-Class platform but with completely different proportions and a lower, more aggressive seating position with 4 seats, not 5. That made it feel like a different car entirely. Most buyers chose the diesel because it was cheaper to run. The ones who chose the V8 got the engine the car was always meant to have.

From International Space Station, we have a unique vantage point to observe lightning storms from directly above them. Much like from the ground, they appear as rapid, intense flashes that are over as quickly as they started. But, with the help of handheld cameras and a bit of practice (and, admittedly, some luck), we can capture these intense flashes with a very high frame rate then slow them down to see how the lightning propagates. It's lightning, in slow motion. This is one that occurred over Indonesia on 6/28. I shot it for a half second at 1/120 frame rate, so, 60 separate frames. I then compiled those frames into two videos: the first, in real-time, and the second, slowed down so that each frame is a half second to highlight the progression of the flash. Note the incredible burst of light in one frame, which includes what is likely a TLE on the upper left. A TLE, or Transient Luminous Event, is an electrical discharge that happens in the upper atmosphere above lightning storms (if you haven’t seen Ferry Farhan TLE photo from last week, head over to her page). As their name implies, these are transient, or short lived, phenomena – it appeared in only one frame of the sequence, lasting for no more than 1/120th of a second. The last photo is that single frame. Absolutely incredible.

Exploring diff visuals with Gen2. I'm amazed at how it takes a single block image to build neon streets, structures, and entire cityscapes. Anybody else toying with AI tonight⁉️ AI Art Workflow: 1. GPT Image 2 + Seedance 2 = cartoon chase scene. I wanted to see how far I could push storyboard-to-video consistency, so I created a full 15-second cat vs mouse sequence inside a completely destroyed house. The process was actually simple: - generated a 3x3 cinematic storyboard sheet in GPT Image 2 - designed every frame like a real animation pre-production sketch - added camera directions, motion cues, timing notes, and destruction progression - used Seedance 2 to animate the entire sequence into one continuous cinematic shot flow What surprised me most was how well Seedance 2.0 understood the visual continuity between frames. The flying debris, motion blur, exaggerated jumps, and camera movement felt surprisingly cohesive. . . .
