'Am I Dreaming?' This self-portrait visualizes how I spend most of my time. Alone in the dark, constantly thinking about ideas and striving to bring them to life. It's a mix of struggle, enjoyment, tranquility, and sleepiness. I run into a wall and doubt myself many times, but then I take a short nap and regain my confidence back many times. It's an endless cycle that leads to becoming a slightly better artist than I was yesterday. This 1/1 artwork will be auctioned through AOTM on Monday at 11am EST.

When the C219 CLS launched in 2004, it invented a body style that every other manufacturer spent the next decade trying to copy. Four doors, a fastback roofline, no B-pillar, and frameless windows, none of which existed together in one car before this. The CLS 500 came with the 5.0L M113 V8, 306 HP and 460 Nm, fitted with two spark plugs per cylinder for a more even burn across the combustion cycle. It was built on the W211 E-Class platform but with completely different proportions and a lower, more aggressive seating position with 4 seats, not 5. That made it feel like a different car entirely. Most buyers chose the diesel because it was cheaper to run. The ones who chose the V8 got the engine the car was always meant to have.

From International Space Station, we have a unique vantage point to observe lightning storms from directly above them. Much like from the ground, they appear as rapid, intense flashes that are over as quickly as they started. But, with the help of handheld cameras and a bit of practice (and, admittedly, some luck), we can capture these intense flashes with a very high frame rate then slow them down to see how the lightning propagates. It's lightning, in slow motion. This is one that occurred over Indonesia on 6/28. I shot it for a half second at 1/120 frame rate, so, 60 separate frames. I then compiled those frames into two videos: the first, in real-time, and the second, slowed down so that each frame is a half second to highlight the progression of the flash. Note the incredible burst of light in one frame, which includes what is likely a TLE on the upper left. A TLE, or Transient Luminous Event, is an electrical discharge that happens in the upper atmosphere above lightning storms (if you haven’t seen Nichole “Vapor” Ayers TLE photo from last week, head over to her page). As their name implies, these are transient, or short lived, phenomena – it appeared in only one frame of the sequence, lasting for no more than 1/120th of a second. The last photo is that single frame. Absolutely incredible.

GPT Image 2 + Seedance 2 = cartoon chase scene. I wanted to see how far I could push storyboard-to-video consistency, so I created a full 15-second cat vs mouse sequence inside a completely destroyed house. The process was actually simple: - generated a 3x3 cinematic storyboard sheet in GPT Image 2 - designed every frame like a real animation pre-production sketch - added camera directions, motion cues, timing notes, and destruction progression - used Seedance 2 to animate the entire sequence into one continuous cinematic shot flow What surprised me most was how well Seedance 2.0 understood the visual continuity between frames. The flying debris, motion blur, exaggerated jumps, and camera movement felt surprisingly cohesive. . . .

I believe 1/1s should really stand out in a collection and so few projects actually succeed in doing that. In the desert, I felt time move differently. It stretched, slowed, and became something I noticed. After a few days, the rhythm changed. Moments felt longer, attention sharpened, and I became increasingly aware of each moment as it passed. This work comes from that condition. Time is not treated only as a theme, but as a system embedded in the structure of the piece. Different ways of measuring time, such as mechanical cycles, calendars, and lunar phases, are translated into rules that continuously transform the work. The piece does not represent time. It runs on it. Its movement is tied to blockchain time. Even when unseen, it continues to rotate and evolve. When loaded, it synchronizes with the present moment, but it does not begin when it is viewed, and it does not stop when it disappears from the screen. During the residency, I spent hours thinking, sketching, and making connections. Those connections are also visible. Elastic lines, like rubber bands, link elements across the piece, representing how memories connect, how one thought leads to another, and how everything builds over time. These same connections introduce moments where the system attempts to pull itself back, as if trying to regain control. But it never fully resets. It is not a loop. The movement continues, drifting forward, never returning to a fixed state. Visually, the work reveals its own construction. Lines, paths, and rotations expose an internal logic, like looking inside a mechanism. The drawing language recalls diagrams, technical sketches, or the interior of a mechanical watch.
