Donkey Kong Country (🇬🇧Rare/Nintendo/1994) for the SNES was a huge commercial and critical success, selling over 9.3 million copies. Coded almost entirely in assembly, the coders brought their 8-bit mindset from ZX Spectrum and NES era to optimize the game. E.g. managing to compress massive 3D-rendered graphics onto a 32-megabit cartridge. The core movement and physics were designed with high efficiency, which was a hallmark of 8-bit coding.

ROBOCOP for arcade (Data East/1988), classic run-and-gun platformer based on the 1987 movie. It was very popular, leading to various home versions loosely based on it, for computers such as the ZX Spectrum and C64. Made by Ocean Software, the computer versions were major hits, specially in the UK.

Interesting Player Sprites #C64 No.8 Parsec. 1993. The movement on your ship feels unusual. It's the exaggerated rotation - for so few pixels it's perfectly formed. Of ALL the many horizontal space shooters on the C64 I think this player sprite is actually the best one.

Would this be one of the worst seasons of Fortnite ever if it wasn't for the sprites? I feel like the sprites are carrying BIG TIME this season. Every shotgun feels like crap and the movement is not good at all. BUT collecting sprites is sooooo fun!!! What do you think? How would you rate this season without taking the sprites into consideration?
