$REPLAY FILES BROKEN (FIXED + STEP BY STEP GUIDE) Hey! Currently there's a bug with replay files that prevents replays from before the latest Rocket League patch to load/work. As a creator, this severely impacts my workflow, and waiting for a patch could take a while. So to make sure I, and everyone else out there can continue to work, I've tried to find a solution. Initially I messed around with installing older Rocket League versions through the steam console, and trying to get the Injector from Bakkesmod to downgrade to the matching Rocket League version, however this proved to be tedious and honestly fruitless. So instead I turned to the modding community where I was quickly directed towards Martin, who ended up fixing the replay issue and building a handy tool. WHAT YOU'LL NEED: RocketRP: Microsoft. NET 9.0 Runtime: HOW TO: Step 1: Download (if your antivirus flags it, allow list it. Running unknown files is ALWAYS at your own risk, however I run the setup as well and the sourcecode is available to check for when you're in doubt). Step 2: Download the .NET 9.0 console framework for windows, or your respective platform. Step 3: Install the .NET 9.0 console framework through the downloaded .exe Step 4: Unzip/Extract the "RocketRP .cli .zip" file Step 5: Right click the extracted folder and select "Open in Terminal". If that option doesn't appear you need to click more options, and / or open with, and manually select Powershell or your preferred terminal of choice. Step 6: leave the terminal window open and go to: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Rocket League\TAGame\Demos Step 7: Select the replays you want and place these in a new folder somewhere easily accessible. Make sure to back them up just in case* Step 8: Right click the replay you want to fix, and then select "copy as path" Step 9: In notepad or similar, copy this command: .\RocketRP.CLI.exe -r " " -m Repack --backup --legacy-fix true Make sure to replace the " " with the link you copied from the replay in step 8. For a breakdown of the command, check the video or use the help command in the terminal. Step 10: In the terminal, paste the command we created in step 9, then press enter. This should create a backup file of your replay, and it should create a new replay file that has the patch applied. NOTE: Right now, doing full folders isn't working, therefore you'll have to do this 1 replay at a time, untill I post a fix in the comments. Step 11: Put the newly generated replay in the demos folder (step 6) and load back into Rocket League. Your replay should now work as intended! Please note if you get any errors, you mostlikely didn't install the .NET 9.0 console correctly, or you have to check your command for typos. Windows 11’s hidden CPU boost is now available in the May optional update! I installed KB5089573 (Build 26200.8524) and tested the Low Latency Profile again. For now, this feature does not make your apps launch faster, as that particular change is not included in today's update. However, the Low Latency Profile currently makes OS flyouts load faster. This means the Start menu opens with less lag, and Action Center feels smoother. Plus, right-click menus show less of that annoying rendering delay. On slower PCs, this should matter even more because Windows briefly pushes the CPU harder during shell interactions, then lets it drop back to idle. Some people call this a lazy band-aid, but that misses the point. macOS and Linux already have similar tricks. This is how modern systems make interactions feel instant. 💾 Okay I finally bought a Raspberry Pi 5 to make into a real retro computer as a proof of concept I love the Raspberry Pi much more than my ESP32 simply because I can SSH into it and it's just like a normal computer or server, the ESP32 required specific software to re-flash it everytime and it was TEDIOUS!!!! I need a fast feedback loop to develop with so all this flashing is too slow for me The Raspberry Pi 5 instead just runs Linux which then runs DOSBox-X to run Windows 3.11 install live downloaded from there so it stays fresh I then also got a Checkmate 19" IPS Retro Monitor by Stephen Jones (very indie and Kickstarter-style product) which is like a vintage retro PC monitor but with an OLED and it runs at 1280x1024, and the Raspberry Pi 5 has HDMI out so it works perfectly with it Then I got an 8BitDo retro IBM keyboard, but the spacebar broke, so I gotta send it back and get a new one, but it was great while it worked, so it's not in this video, and I got the 8BitDo retro mouse So altogether it's a proof of concept of a real vintage retro PC with internet and it works now My end goal is to make this into production and SELL it, not for money but more for fun because I think it should exist, just like Palmer Luckey's ModRetro Chromatic Gameboy-remake I'd go with something smaller than this 19" checkmate display though, it's great but too big for the Windows 3.11 era I think, more like 14" with a matching sized retro IBM-style keyboard and Windows 3.11 preinstalled (if legally allowed by Satya Nadella) with WiFi working out of the box We could also go with Windows 98/XP, because for me too Windows 3.11 was a very short time, so I too have vague memories of it, most of my computing memories is Windows 98/XP etc. Inside it could simply run on a Raspberry Pi 5 like here, which is easily powerful enough to run all of these OS'es I see many SF founders with Apple II's in their living room, and I guess cause Apple was more popular there back then, but in the rest of the world we were mostly IBM PCs and clones that ran Windows, so it's cool to have that as one retro object working with internet in your living room Anyway, step by step, we're here now 😊

Back in the 1990s, websites were just text, links and if you were very lucky some images, but definitely NOT video or audio Internet speeds were extremely slow (think 2.5kb/s, so about 10,000 times slower than an average connection now) so it was simply impossible or it'd take ages to load RealPlayer changed that, they made a heavy compression codec for video and audio where a video could be just a few kilobytes, and with that it instantly became the first app that let people play real audio and video inside websites, it integrated into browsers like Netscape or Internet Explorer so people could embed video and audio on sites, and they did! RealPlayer was so successful that by the year 2000 more than 85% of all audio or video content on the web was in the RealPlayer format The app itself was free for people to use, and they made money by charging for the server software that would stream the video and audio They IPO'd during the internet bubble of the late 90s and were valued at $550 million dollars, which would be $1B inflation-adjusted now, so they were a billion dollar company (That internet bubble by the way has endless parallels with the AI bubble we're probably in today) So why don't you hear about them these days anymore? Well, Microsoft started bundling Windows Media Player with Windows, just like they did bundling Internet Explorer, and they gave away the server software for streaming Windows Media content (like .wma and .wmv) for free This overnight nuked RealPlayer's business, so they sued Microsoft for unfair competition, they won in court in 2005, and Microsoft agreed to pay them $761 million to settle, so I think the founder still got rich from it That same year in 2005, YouTube started and around 2008 the HTML standard added the tag while making most video streaming tech open source, so it wasn't a business anymore RealPlayer stayed public as a company though until actually recently, 2022, when the original founder Rob Glaser bought it back and took it private for about $25 million Obviously nobody needs a video streaming app anymore, it's integrated in all platforms, software, and devices now, so now they seem to be focusing on "AI-powered facial recognition for security professionals" On my site I've installed RealPlayer for you go back into time and try and managed to the get streaming part working too, so you can listen to actual radio show from the 90s about UFOs at Roswell which I found on Jason Scott's Discmaster archives These days we all watch video on YouTube, Instagram, X and TikTok etc. but it all started with RealPlayer 😊

U-Net by hand ✍️ ~ 17 steps walkthrough below I consider U-Net as a key milestone in deep learning, the first image-to-image model that really worked! It came out of medical imaging, an unusual place, not from NeurIPS or CVPR or ACL. Now it is the backbone of diffusion models, which you see in almost all modern image generation models. I drew the network as a C so the matrix multiplication flows naturally down. Tilt your head to the right and it is a U again. 🤣 Goal: push a 3 x 16 image down to a 2 x 4 bottleneck and back out again, filling in every cell yourself. = 1. Given = An image of three channels, R, G and B, sixteen pixels wide, and every kernel the network will use. = 2. Convolution 1 = Let us slide the first kernel over the image. Each output is one multiply-and-add over a 2 x 3 window, and the result is the green feature map. = 3. Find the maxima = We circle the largest value in each 1 x 2 window. Circling first is worth the extra step: it is the pooling decision, made before anything is written down. = 4. Max pool 1 = Let us copy those maxima down. Sixteen columns become eight, and half the detail is gone for good. = 5. Convolution 2 = We convolve again with the second kernel, deeper into the contracting path. The feature map is blue now. = 6.
