Rupert Lowe dismisses concerns about splitting the vote in Makerfield. So why isn’t he standing a candidate in the Aberdeen by-election? Because it looks like the Tories could win there and I strongly suspect he’s got a deal in place with them. It’s so obvious what this is.

Today at DPMQs, Shadow Energy Secretary Claire Coutinho made it clear why the Aberdeen South by-election is so important. The by-election in Makerfield is about one man’s job. But Aberdeen South is about thousands of people’s jobs. A vote for Conservative Douglas Lumsden tomorrow, is a vote to stand up for North Sea workers, protect our energy security, and back the people who power our country. Meanwhile Labour and the SNP are more interested in hammering the industry, leaving the people of Aberdeen to pay the price. It’s time to send the SNP and Labour a message. Vote Douglas Lumsden.
