🇺🇦🇧🇾 During his meeting with Russian Ambassador in Belarus Boris Gryzlov, Alexander Lukashenko announced that he recently held a meeting with the representatives of Ukrainian President Zelensky to address the risk of Belarus getting dragged into the war against Ukeaine. Lukashenko noted that Belarusians don't want to fight with Ukraine, as they would have to shoot "machine operators and milkmaids" from poorly motivated Ukrainian territorial troops. Lukashenko also underscored that Belarus' position is peaceful, but added that it will stand together with Russia in any situation. This comes a week after Zelensky issued what can be considered an ultimatum to Belarus to remove retranslators used to guide Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory and warned against Minsk getting involved further in the war against Ukraine.

⚡️🇧🇾🇷🇺 Lukashenko has publicly reassured Putin that Belarus and Russia will continue confronting their shared problems together, presenting the alliance as resilient despite growing external pressure. Speaking to the Russian president, Alexander Lukashenko said their meetings are driven by the changing dynamics of international relations and the challenges facing both states. He stressed that Moscow and Minsk are not meeting because they alone are responsible for the current tensions, adding that there should be no doubt that joint work will allow them to overcome difficulties of any kind. Strategically, the statement reinforces the political message that Belarus remains firmly tied to Russia’s security and foreign-policy orbit. For Moscow, that unity matters because Belarus remains a crucial military, logistical and geopolitical partner on NATO’s eastern flank and directly along Ukraine’s northern border.

Will Zelensky and Lukashenko meet? Kyiv does not rule out a meeting with the Belarusian dictator. Ukrainian diplomat Yaroslav Chernohor said talks at the highest level could take place if they help reduce casualties or bring an end to the fighting closer. However, there are currently no concrete plans for such a meeting. Ukraine continues contacts with Minsk on practical issues — including exchanges of Ukrainian and Russian prisoners of war conducted through Belarus.

Poland wants to invade Belarus, but it will be a real war, – Lukashenko. In an interview for the Russia TV channel, Lukashenko said that the West plans to “already openly join in” with the help of NATO troops. “Now they are supplying weapons there, mercenaries... This is already happening. But their dream is to plan and use NATO hands to carry out [an invasion] from the territory of Ukraine, or better from the side of those nasty Poles, the leaders of Poland, to seize Belarus and stretch this line almost to Leningrad, as it was once,” the president of Belarus said. Lukashenko said that Belarus and Russia could develop a plan of attack on Poland. According to him, Moscow and Minsk have a “well-developed plan” for the defense of the western border of Belarus. But “if necessary, this plan can be changed into an offensive one.”

🚨BREAKING: ZELENSKYY RECEIVED AN INVITATION FROM TRUMP TO BE A MEMBER OF A BOARD OF PEACE, BUT HE SAID HE DOESN’T SEE HIMSELF ON ANY BOARD TOGETHER WITH RUSSIA AND LUKASHENKO, BECAUSE IN REALITY - THEY ARE ON A BOARD OF WAR "We received an invitation. Diplomats are working on this invitation. I think that, honestly speaking... Russia is our enemy. Belarus is their ally. Honestly, it's very hard for me to imagine how we could sit with Russia in any council. And this isn't about the peace council. Russia stands for war, and Belarus with them, specifically the Lukashenko regime", - Zelenskyy on Jan 20

Kaja Kallas on Russia and Belarus: With the Duma elections approaching, we must be ready for further provocations on European soil. We are likely to see more attacks, like the one in Leipzig, and we must be prepared to respond. Lukashenko has made Belarus a platform of Russia's war. His regime also threatens its European neighbours and weaponises illegal migration against them. The sophistication of smuggling tunnels points to organised support. There are strong indications that Minsk has been lending a hand.
