Putin said that NATO was "provoking global militarization" and "inventing" "some possible invasion of Europe" by Russia. He said that in response, Russia will "continue to develop" its armed forces and "strengthen the security of Russia." This is the second time in a few days that Putin himself speaks of this. Of course, we all know too well that when Russia promises it won't attack, this mostly means the opposite. Today, Putin de-facto openly stated that Russia will continue putting its economy on military rails and ramp up its war machine. Putin gives the perfect excuse that this is in response to NATO's "militarization" (in fact, it is exactly the other way around - NATO started increasing its military capacity in response to Russia). I've written before that Russia has no interest in its soldiers returning home. Consequently, an attack on Europe will only look logical. They will find excuses and justifications. Putin must be stopped. Russia must be stopped. Ukraine must be given all the support and resources we need. A rebuilt, Europe-integrated Ukraine with our incomparable military experience will be the strongest defense for Europe. Time is playing against Europe. Hurry up. Putin doesn't waste any time.

🇷🇺🇨🇳 WHY RUSSIA AND CHINA AREN'T SCARED OF THE WEST ANYMORE The rules of the game have changed, and not in our favor. During the Cold War, everyone understood deterrence. Both sides knew exactly what signals they were sending when they made moves. It was terrifying, but at least it was predictable. Push too far, get pushed back. Nobody wanted nuclear war, so everyone played carefully. Today? Nobody agrees on the rules. Russia shoots drones into NATO airspace and dares anyone to do something about it. China bullies American allies in the Pacific. They're testing Western resolve, and honestly, they're finding it pretty weak. The West isn't unified anymore. Trump questions why America should police the world. European countries can't agree on how to respond to cyber attacks, sabotage, and provocations because Russia operates in ways that are ambiguous and deniable. Hard to retaliate when you can't definitively prove who did it. And when you can prove it, what then? NATO members can't exactly burn down Moscow shopping centers in response to cut undersea cables. So Russia keeps probing, testing, undermining. The uncomfortable lesson from the Cold War? Sometimes you have to escalate to de-escalate.
