The Kremlin has reacted to Finnish Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen’s declaration that Helsinki plans to allow nuclear weapons on its territory. Russia and Finland share a 1,340 km border: DMITRY PESKOV: "We’ve seen this statement, and it clearly escalates tensions in Europe. What it really does is make Finland more vulnerable, and those vulnerabilities are the result of decisions made by the Finnish authorities themselves. "The moment Finland starts hosting nuclear weapons on its territory, it effectively becomes a threat to us. And if Finland poses a threat to Russia, we will respond accordingly."
