Recent Russian attacks have left Ukraine’s energy grid severely weakened, with power overloads causing further damage and prolonged outages. Residents in the building say they have been without heating for nearly three weeks. As temperatures drop below freezing, they sleep in multiple layers and rely on gas stoves and brief periods of electricity to heat water and keep warm.

The situation remains difficult – hundreds of thousands of families are still without electricity in Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kherson, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Sumy, and Dnipro regions. I thank each and every person involved in the repair work. Last night, our communities were attacked again. People were wounded. Russia is dragging out the war and seeks to inflict as much harm as possible on our people. In total, the Russians launched more than 1,500 attack drones, nearly 900 guided aerial bombs, and 46 missiles of various types against Ukraine this week. Just one week. Ukraine needs peace on dignified terms, and we are ready to work as constructively as possible. The coming days will be filled with diplomacy. It is critically important that it delivers results. I count on the support of our partners. Thank you to everyone who is helping.
