A video appeared reportedly showing Russians moving their equipment to the naval base in Tartus and the Khmeimim air base. Earlier, this equipment was located at small Russian bases in different places in Syria. Russian tourists waiting at the Kerch Bridge checkpoint to leave Crimea from the Kerch side on June 26, 2026, filmed burning UAV wreckage in a field next to them. According to those at the scene, the drone was shot down directly overhead by air defenses. Based on what is visible from this angle, the wreckage bears a resemblance to a Russian Orion strike UAV, although the available footage is not ideal. When we say that the aggressor must not receive any reward for the war, so that peace can truly last, everyone must understand – these are not just words. Unfortunately, the world already had the chance to verify this twelve years ago. Russia’s war against Ukraine began with the occupation of our Crimea, and the world effectively turned a blind eye to this. The leaders back then showed little interest in the protests and resistance in Crimea and in Ukraine’s overall sentiment. The world advised Ukraine to stay silent. That is exactly why Putin came to believe he could wage a much larger war and confront the West even more aggressively. Now, every year on February 26 – the Day of Resistance to the Occupation of Crimea – we remember this global lesson, honouring those who did not stay silent and did not falter in the face of Russian aggression, and we insist that holding the aggressor accountable for war is one of the strongest security guarantees – one of the strongest prerequisites for lasting peace. I thank everyone around the world who supports us in this, participates in the work of our Crimea Platform and other international formats that remind the world about Crimea and the meaning of its occupation by Russia. I thank everyone who helps Ukraine resist Russian repression in Crimea, assists us in returning people from captivity, and prevents the occupying regime from consolidating its power. Just now, the Russian Ministry of Defense has reported that two more cargo ships, traveling from the port of Chornomorsk to the port of Odesa, have been struck by our drones. Thus, the number of ships hit in the past three days has risen to eleven. But that's not the important part. What's important is the route they were taking. And also, the morning news that a tanker, also traveling from Chornomorsk to Odesa, was hit by our drones yesterday. Why is the route so important? Let's look at the map. It's obvious that coastal shipping between Chornomorsk and Odesa makes no sense. The distance between the ports is only 20 km, and it's much easier to transport goods by rail and road. Why do I say "their own" and not "foreign" ships? Because Kyiv, like us, has its own "shadow fleet" of ships that are supposedly foreign-flagged. These ships have been converted into... carriers of Bayraktar drones, and other types of drones, etc. And these ships are now our main target (for destruction). This will sharply complicate the enemy's ability to attack our facilities using drones. And incidentally, we are indeed depriving the enemy of access to the sea. So that they can no longer receive not only military supplies, but also civilian goods through the ports of the Odesa region. Plus, they won't be able to export their own products. Ukrainian Defense Forces have the Russian-occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions under fire control: Russian occupation "authorities" restricted passenger travel toward Russian-occupied Ukrainian Donetsk, Mariupol, Melitopol, Simferopol, and Crimea.
