🇪🇺🇺🇸 Rutte: Why are the Americans doing it, taking out Iranian nuclear capability? Because we can’t. But in the future, we have to make sure that, as Europeans, we can do this ourselves. It is a bit strange that, to protect ourselves here in Europe from 140 million Russians,... show more

Its not strange, America just never fought real wars that directly affected them on their soil. The only "pain" they ever experienced was 9/11.

Seems to me it's a Nuke bomb issue - UK is outside the EU - France has maybe 300 Nukes. Even if Nukes should never be used - Russia continues to threaten the EU with the use of those bombs.

Sounds so right! Europe is a sleeping giant. Russia has waken it by invading Ukraine.

🇪🇺🇺🇸 NATO Chief Rutte makes the case for European defense independence: "Europe, with the UK, Turkey, and Norway, is over 500 million people. We are facing an adversary in Russia of about 120 to 140 million people. And we are now overly dependent on one ally with about 350 million people to make sure we can defend ourselves." Europe outweighs Russia 4 to 1 in population and still cannot defend itself without Washington. Trump has been saying this for years.

Excellent answer from President Trump to a question wondering "why...running a country in South America" is "America first": "We want to surround ourselves with good neighbors. We want to surround ourselves with stability. We want to surround ourselves with energy. We have tremendous energy in that country. It's very important that we protect it. We need that for ourselves. We need that for the world, and we want to make sure we can protect it."

450 million EU citizens should not have to depend on 340 million Americans to defend ourselves against 140 million Russians who can’t defeat 38 million Ukrainians. It’s time for us to take responsibility for the defence of Europe.

“Why do 450 million wealthy Europeans need 340 million Americans to protect themselves from 140 million Russians?" - Andrew Denison, transatlantic networks. "Naturally, we must hope, and I think we must also be glad when the warring parties, the Americans, and others talk to each other. But if one looks at the balance of interests, then I think one must be realistic. Not much has changed there. And headlines are like smoke and mirrors. One sometimes gets confused. That is clear, but the interests of the Russians in an unconditional ceasefire are not visible at all. And also, regarding a sovereign Ukraine, the Russians ultimately continue to show no willingness to accept that. Until the Americans realise this, it may take a while. Trump also always keeps his isolationist wing in mind. But we must ask ourselves, why so much excitement in Germany this past week—'Panic on the Titanic.' America is turning its back on Ukraine and Europe. Why? Because a realistic perspective would say, no, we are not there yet. I believe it is because Germany is so dependent. And to understand this whole controversy, one must ask: Why do 450 million wealthy Europeans need 340 million Americans to protect themselves from 140 million Russians?"

So countering America with tariffs that they admit it hurts us...is a good thing because that somehow shows we defend ourselves? Jean Charest: "We (Canada) are one of the few countries in the world that's actually applied counter-tariffs in the automotive sector and elsewhere. By the way, when we do that, just to be clear, we're very aware, we hurt ourselves. We know that. We know that. it's part of what we need to do to be able to defend ourselves." Huh

🇪🇺🇮🇷 NATO's Mark Rutte on Iran nuclear problem: “Europe was not able to take out the nuclear capability of Iran. We couldn’t. We will have the capabilities in 10 years — we can, and we should. It should also be us taking care of the Houthis in the Red Sea, and not the Americans. Of course there are always ramifications, but the ramifications start from a premise that it is good that the Americans did this. And I am one believing that it was absolutely essential for the Americans to take on Iran.”

🔥Somewhere in Europe: Son: Daddy, why is it so cold? Father: Because Russia attacked Ukraine. Son: What’s that got to do with us? Father: We imposed sanctions against Russians. Son: Why? Father: To make Russians feel bad. Son: But, are we Russians? It could be so funny if it was not so sad for ordinary Europeans.

Trent: Immigrants are far less likely than native-born citizens to commit crimes. That is not who we need to protect ourselves from. It actually turns out that we need to protect ourselves from the rich, the powerful, the oligarchs — the Epsteins of the world, the Trumps of the world. This is who we need to protect ourselves from.

Jean Charest: "We're not as big as the United States. We know that. We have to be more strategic. We have to be smarter. And we have to have a hard look at ourselves and our own economy and what it is that we have to do here at home to make ourselves more competitive. So that 20 years from now we thank Donald Trump."

🇮🇷 Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responds to President Trump’s warning that Iran better not retaliate or face force never seen before. Araghchi said: “We are defending ourselves. And we have every legitimate right to defend ourselves. What the United States is doing is an act of aggression. What we are doing is an act of self-defense. There are huge differences between these two. So one should tell the President of the United States: do not attack, do not make any aggression against another country. But nobody can tell us that we don’t have any right to defend ourselves. We are defending ourselves, whatever it takes.”

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte PRAISES President Trump for decisive action in Iran, calling it “CRUCIAL” for the entire world if reports that Iran can strike as far as Diego Garcia are confirmed. RUTTE: “We are looking into that. But if this would be true, it is the more evidence what the president is doing here, taking out the ballistic missile capability, taking out the nuclear capability from Iran, is crucial.” “And exactly as the ambassador just said, Ambassador Waltz, we have seen with North Korea if we negotiate for too long, you might pass the moment when you can still get things done and North Korea now has the nuclear capability.” “If Iran would have the nuclear capability including together with missile capability, it would be a direct threat to Israel and to the region and to Europe and to the stability in the world.” “So the president doing this is crucial.” “And I have seen the polling. But I really hope the American people will be with him because he is doing this to make the whole world safer.”

JD Vance on Europe: People think that Trump, or that I, or that Rubio, hate Europe or have some problem with Europe. We don’t. We love Europe. Why do we want Europe to control its borders? Because we love European civilization. We want it to preserve itself. Why do we care about economic growth? Because they’re one of our most important allies in the world. We share a common civilizational heritage. Why do we care about NATO? Because we want Europe to be able to defend itself if, God forbid, they were invaded. We love Europe so much, we’re demanding that they do what their own leadership refuses to do, which is look after themselves and be smarter.
