A scheme that is being heavily advertised and abused by fresh off the plane immigrants, to easily secure property in our country. The 5% deposit scheme was designed to help young kiwis get into the property market, who might be struggling financially to obtain the standard 20% deposit rate. Our youth should not be competing with non-citizens for housing.

Insurance is the biggest aspect of personal finance that the vast majority of Indians struggle with. One big reason is a lack of awareness about insurance, rampant misselling complexity, spam, etc. Health insurance and life insurance (term insurance) are the only two products most people need. But the products that are sold the most are ULIPs and other traditional products that promise both insurance and investments but offer the worst of both worlds, not to mention the ridiculous commissions. To make insurance simple for you, we recently hosted an AMA with Shrehith Karkera, co-founder of Ditto Insurance. As he beautifully put it: "Buying life insurance is the kindest gesture you can offer to your dependents and family because when you ask most people what's the most important thing in life, they say family yet most of them won't have term insurance. " "Insurance helps you deal with black swan events—things you don't see coming." It’s about time we exposed the NPP’s deliberate and entrenched mischief about the genesis of National Health Insurance in Ghana. For the records, NHIS was piloted by the NDC/Rawlings government. The NPP opposed the idea of a single NHIS back then. The Kuffour/NPP government introduced NHIS in the year 2003 in the form of “District Mutual Health Insurance Schemes” (DMHIS) through the passage of ACT 650 (REPEALED). Section 2 of ACT 650 only provided for the establishment of a National Health Insurance Council to among other things, register, license and regulate, health insurance schemes; supervise the operations of National Health Insurance schemes; and grant accreditation to health care providers and monitor their performance. It is worthy of note, that this scheme was not potable. An administrative directive by the Kuffour government for the issuance of universal NHIS cards on September 2008 did not and could not change the scheme from a District Mutual Health Insurance (DMHIS) Scheme into a national one. It continued to remain a DMHIS. Thus in the year 2012, the NDC government sponsored ACT 852 to repeal ACT 650 and establish the National Health Insurance Scheme we have today, where the NHIA implements, operates and manages a single NHIS for the entire country.
