Sack off every championship ref and start over

Mate he’s not a robot, watch that in real time, no chance it’s as easy to call as you think

I did watch it in real time from 100 yards away and could tell he got the ball from there it's no excuse blokes a professional referee in the 2nd best league in England

@JackOrton96 I could guarantee you have never refereed a game in your life

@JackOrton96 And how much money would you have on that?

@JackOrton96 A lot if your absolutely adamant you get that right every time

@JackOrton96 I could see the ball change direction from the other end of the pitch, there's absolutely no excuse for a professional referee to get that wrong

@JackOrton96 Like I say you have never refereed a match in your life then

@JackOrton96 And you're still wrong

Var was introduced to correct clear and obvious errors like this. The problem is that it instead looks for reasons to disallow goals and kills off the excitement in games which is why it's ruining football

Do yous expect the ref to have a telescope on him like how is anyone meant to see that

Oh fuck off that's the worst excuse for a ref blunder I've ever heard 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Well you’re the cunt crying about a pen that didn’t matter in the end

Plenty of movement

@skybluelouis_ Difficult one for a ref in real time in fairness but yeah, on a replay, it’s clear

Mate not even trying to put you down but all you do on Twitter every single day is complain and cry

Once again

Cooked here mate

?

At full speed during the game.I think the majority of referees would look at that and give a penalty and VAR in the prem would’ve cancelled the on field decision. But are you telling me if that would’ve been a Coventry player you wouldn’t have been screaming for a penalty? 🤔🤷🏻♂️

Brereton jumping before any contact just made it look worse. If a keeper dives at a players feet to make a save there is always gonna be contact. He misses the ball it’s a penalty, he makes the save no penalty. It’s what keepers do every game.

@dharvey4 Dive by the Derby player also 🤷♂️

He barely grazed the ball, nowhere near enough to stop Brereton carrying on to get the ball. Just minuscule contact doesn’t stop it being a foul

When I watched it first time I thought it was pen. After seeing it again and slowed down it certainly wasn't. Think saying sack every ref is a bit much. 😂

You need to understand that there’s no VAR in the Championship, so it’s absolutely difficult to spot the fingertip contact the goalkeeper made with the ball in real time. Yes, it’s not a penalty, but it’s not a grievous error from the ref.

You could see by the trajectory of the ball in the ground - never a pen. Ref has to see that. We’ve had plenty like that not given. Don’t accept that it’s difficult to see in real time.

Why are they showing a slowed down video to prove a point? There's no VAR. Make a decision from a full speed replay from one angle only before judging how straight forward this decision was. For the record it was a mistake, but very easy for any ref in the world to get wrong.

You will be okay next season when VAR does not allow that penalty. What you won't like is that you will not be able to properly celebrate a goal. Good luck in the Premier League Sky Blues.

I bet you wasn't screaming when he let your lads off with constant fouls on Ozoh. This wasn't a pen but I guarantee you've had plenty bad decisions go your way this season.

Great keeping. I had my 7 year old (goalkeeper) shouting ‘never a penalty’, thats from @Rovers fan over here. See you in a couple of weeks. We’ll wave at you from hospitality 😂

Sorry, this just popped up in my feed, I don't understand what the issue is? The laws of the game make no mention of touching the ball first, when saying what is or isn't a foul.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 fuck off no way thats a pen

Show it at real speed and you'd be screaming stonewaller.....at other end. VAR??? Wait till you have to endure it. Just wait.

Why can’t strikers just actually put the ball away instead of going for a penalty

@perthwolves1 Sadly the championship has gone the same way as the prem, where any physical contact is a foul. So wrong.

I think when people complain about errors like this they’ve obviously have no idea how hard refereeing is. It’s obviously not correct but the referee has one viewpoint and it’s a tiny touch on the ball & therefore hard to see in real time. Impossible to get every call right.

I’m first to criticise officials. We get it worse than anyone at Cardiff and that’s a fact, from the Prem to League One… And while I agree with your statement, that particular incident in the video is borderline impossible to call. Ref’s safest bet was to give a penalty there.

I get it from both sides but HOW is a goalie supposed to do his job without going through a player.. He can't SAVE the ball, whilst at the same time disappear from existence to ensure no contact..

All irrelevant now, boys showed great resilience yet again 🩵

punched the back of his thigh while he dived, should it not be a 🟥 too ?

I agree mate but you got all this to come and much worse pal when you go up , well done for beating Direby 👍🏻

That’s a hard spot without the replay Now I’m a hearts fan and I’ve seen a ref book a player for diving, even tho he went round him and got cleaned out, decision stood WITH VAR! I’d take situations like this all day instead of VAR

Maybe EFL should concider VAR?

@EFL You honestly need to look at this - this is NOT a penalty and your refs look like amateurs. Come on now - forget the bullshit and apologise.

Penalty 100%

Lineos need to be more involved in games, their piss poor in the championship

Clearly not a penalty for the angles you have given but the fact of the matter is, from the refs angle, he couldn’t see that otherwise he doesn’t give it. Full speed, in the situation of running from one end to the other and from the angle he had, we need to be realistic

When he grabbed his nuts…🤷🏼
