No-one is talking of decriminalisation or legalisation. They are talking about 'personal use' levels not being a crime. They are very different issues and conflating them for political gain is a poor look.

Alcohol is associated with anti-social behaviour and its use can lead to severe physical and mental health problems, we all know why all governments wont decriminalise cannabis, but that's ok because thanks to the war on drugs it has never been more freely available.

Except, ICC has not made any such ruling, in fact it has made no ruling at all, whilst insofar as the ICJ has said anything, it has only said "some of the rights claimed by South Africa and for which it is seeking protection are plausible", but not that genocide itself was plausible. Sadiq Khan you are the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, not a foreign policy and legal expert. How about you stick to your purview, like fixing pot holes and garbage collection.

On this Memorial Day we remember those who have given their lives in the service of this nation, and we hold in our hearts the families and loved ones they left behind. For those of us who wore the uniform in combat, this is a day where we remember our friends and comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice. We remember them as they were: sons and daughters, husbands and wives, mothers and fathers. And we rededicate ourselves to living good lives, not to waste the opportunity to live on they gave us with their sacrifice. The willingness of some young Americans to sign the dotted line and risk their futures for the good of the nation is a resource we must jealously guard. It cannot be abused and squandered by those in power for their own benefit. The best way to honor the dead is to make sure future generations are not sacrificed for no reason. Semper Fidelis.
