Damn! This chart was created by @mohakmangal ?!? Mohak, this is a basic mistake in interpreting PCI figures. The PCI does not reflect the economic living conditions of the *average* person. That's because the mean is pushed up by a fat right tail, and especially so in Sub Saharan Africa , which has high levels of inequality. What you should be comparing with is median income levels. For SSA, the income of the average adult is $2.5k in PPP terms (ie 50% of adults have an income below $2.5k). In India, the 10th percentile adult has an income of $2.9k. IOW, more than 90% of Indians have a better quality of economic life than an *average* person in SSA.
