There is a confusion between Brahmana VARNA and Brahmin JATI. Varna is open to all qualified people. Jati is meant for those born into it. Brahmin JATI often do Brahmana VARNA (eg: priest) job. Non-Brahmin JATI also often do Brahmana VARNA (eg: priest) job.
