Quentin Tarantino recounts a dinner with Robert De Niro during the making of Jackie Brown, where he asked him whether he understood when he landed the role of Vito in The Godfather Part II, that it would change his life. De Niro’s answer revealed a great deal about his mindset at the time. “I was working with Robert De Niro on Jackie brown, and we went out to dinner once. - When he got Vito in the Godfather Part II, that was going to be a big thing for him. He won the Oscar for it - it set him up to be a movie star. “The idea was, when he (Vincent D'Onofrio) decides to reveal himself they did a special version of his makeup that was very stretchable. What he does is he grabs the back of his head and he just starts tugging on it. The idea was he would pull it as far as he could, and then we would take over stretching the image, making it appear to be distorting in a way that it physically couldn’t. Then basically when I shot Vince I just kept urging him to pull harder, and harder, and harder until finally the final take he just pulled it until the makeup just ripped. We said, ‘Okay, we got it.’ That’s what’s in the show because it’s really tugging on his face the maximum it could be done, and then we just extended that. Helped by a little bit of editing we were able to put a ridiculously large CG creature inside of a human sized body, and we’re not seeing it all at one time, you kind of get away with the fact that, well maybe he was in there he was just hunched up.” – Eric Brevig, Men In Black visual effects supervisor.

Denzel Washington’s epic monologue towards the end of Training Day was largely improvised on set. Director Antoine Fuqua was so blown away by his performance, he says he thinks he "forgot to yell cut”. He explains… “That’s Denzel. He was just in his zone. I mean, that was one of those moment...people talk about AI. Those are the moments where you go...it's a great tool. It's gonna be a great tool, I think...but the emotion, and the moment that an actor can bring - you can't predict that. That's something that's just inside of Denzel. And when that came out, I was just like - I hope I got it. I just turned to my operator - who was shaking- I looked over at the guy - I was like, “please tell me you got that.” Because that was the take. That was it. There was no other take - I mean, how do you tell an actor like that, that that wasn't good enough? …He walked over to me, and he just had this look in his eyes. Joe says when he sat down at final tribal council he immediately knew who didn’t like him and said he didn’t even need to be there for it and to him it more like a sentencing than debating a jury. When the #Sooners hired him in 1998, Brent Venables says he wanted to go get Akili Smith at QB. The late, great Mike Leach wanted an unheralded southpaw named Josh Heupel instead. This gentleman was flying Delta and was removed from the plane because he was wearing a Maga hat. The flight attendant told him to remove it so he did, but subsequently there were a few people around him that just wanted him to put it back on quickly so that they could take a picture of him.. which he did. As soon as he did that he was removed from the plane. He was marched in front of a lot of other people and embarrassed, and then the captain had a private conversation with him. The excuse the pilot gave him was absolute utter BS. You may disagree with me on that. The man was kicked off the flight and he now has an ongoing lawsuit with Delta Airlines. I hope he wins.
