I’ve come around to the position that these drip drip drip comments from frontier AI companies are actively harmful if their goal is to raise awareness both because it desensitizes the public and because they look like car salesmen if their predictions fall short

Great but... Another way to look at it is, "Executives will slowly fire all employees so they can run their companies without them and earn more $$$" Efficiency.
