Sam Altman: AI models will need their own devices so they can stay with you and understand the context of your life. “The iPhone is probably the greatest piece of consumer hardware ever created.” “But it wasn’t designed for a world where hardware needs to capture the context of your entire life.” “My phone is sitting in my pocket, but it’s not going to understand us.” “I’d want a device that can participate in the conversation, understand it, and know the context.” “And OpenAI is committed to building something like that.” AI first hardwares are going to take over soon.

Sam Altman says OpenAI has two major priorities: automated researchers and AI-accelerated companies But the dream is to build an agent that monitors your computer, reads your messages, listens to meetings, and acts without being asked "it knows everything about my life"

Worship is more than a song you sing on Sunday. Your life is your worship. The way you treat people. The way you show up. The way you carry His name- that is your living sacrifice before God. Romans 12:1 says to present yourself wholly acceptable and pleasing to Him. That is your reasonable service. Your life is your resume. Your life is your portfolio. It either honors God or it doesn't. So the question isn't just "Do you love God?"... it's "Does your life show it?" Drop a like❤️ if this hits home.

In the next few years, every digital action will be mediated by AI. Moving money. Business communications. Researching decisions. Booking meetings. Paying bills. Running workflows. Choosing what to do next. If you want to stay effective, you will need your own architecture around your personal AI agent. Not just a subscription. A personal system that helps your AI understand your world: your goals, context, rules, obligations, decisions, and outcomes. That is ODEI. Built to help you get more from the AI you already use: ChatGPT. Claude. Gemini. Grok (soon). Not by replacing them. By giving them your memory, rules, context, receipts, and local control. The model is not enough. The real leverage comes when your AI understands your world, works inside your rules, and compounds with you over time. Sam Altman thinks the next major shift in consumer tech could be AI-first hardware. His vision goes beyond a smarter phone, a device that can understand conversations, remember context and actually participate in your life. “The iPhone is probably the greatest piece of consumer hardware ever created.” But Altman says it wasn’t designed for an AI-first world.

Sam Altman says the next AI safety problem is not a chatbot being wrong. It is an agent taking actions you cannot audit. "We are going to have AI systems clicking around the internet." "This is the most interesting and consequential safety challenge we have yet faced." Because once an agent has access to your systems, information, and computer, mistakes stop looking like bad answers. They become actions. "You will not use our agents if you do not trust that they are not going to empty your bank account or delete your data." That is the shift: Chatbots could be vague. Agents need an audit trail. The next bottleneck is trust, verification, governance, permissions, provenance, and human override. This is exactly why we are convening the AI Assurance & Governance Summit at Stanford on Oct 1. If your company is deploying AI into high-stakes workflows, this is the room to be in:

.Sam Altman says OpenAI will "obviously" have a version of Codex that "can do other knowledge-work tasks, and control your computer." "Of course we should have an ability to kick off new tasks from mobile, and we'll do that." "Really what you want is your single AI that's working for you on a unified backend. Access to all your data and ideas, and your stuff and your memory, and the ability to work across a lot of surfaces."

Your old friend saw you struggling and helped you with a bike That you had an accident with because the friend is a traditional you went ahead to start telling people that He wants to use your glory 😂😂 The traditionalist response was that “ your glory that couldn’t get you a bike is what I want to use”

Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, on why the iPhone, the greatest consumer device ever made, is the wrong hardware for the AI era: Sam argues the iPhone's basic design wasn't made for a world where AI needs to live alongside your entire life. "I think the iPhone is currently the greatest piece of consumer hardware ever made by a lot. Like, incredible what that has done." The iPhone was designed for a pre-AI world. Sam Altman explains: "It was not meant for a world where you needed a piece of hardware that could absorb all of the context of your life. You know, you can use the phone, you can stop using the phone, you can put it in your pocket, but it's kind of like on or off." That binary, on or off, in use or in your pocket, is the core mismatch. A device that flips between active and dormant can't continuously absorb the context that a personal AGI would need to actually be useful to you. Sam uses the conversation he's having in that moment as the example: "This has been a very interesting conversation. I would love this to be referenced by my personal AGI later, but my phone is in my pocket and it's not going to understand." The vision he's pointing toward is a device that participates differently: "I would like a device that, if I wanted to, can participate and understand and know about this conversation." The shift Sam is describing is from a device you pick up and put down, to one that quietly captures the context of your life. Without that continuous context, a personal AGI can't actually be personal.
