Sam Neill has passed away at 78. His passing comes suddenly after he stated in April that he was cancer free after fighting a rare form of blood cancer. I will miss this man deeply. He was an actor filled with heart and filled with joy. We lost a great one today. RIP to a true gentleman.

Way back in 2018 Sam Heughan raffled off a date with himself as part of a fundraising campaign through Omaze. This "Win A Date With Sam Heughan" raffle ended up raising $2,892,080 for MPC, Omaze's most successful fundraiser to date. As part of the advertising Sam approached a bunch of kids for some dating advice and the resultant video is absolutely hilarious. It is one of my favourite Sam videos to watch. The banter between Sam and the kids is so funny. (And they say you should never work with children or animals! Pfft, so not true...well in this case anyway!) I know it has been shared a million times before, and I will probably share it at least another 50 times myself, but for those of you that haven't seen it, enjoy. And if you have seen it a few times before, like me, I hope you enjoy it again too! PS Fun fact, one of the blonde kids is now playing Jemmy on Outlander. Wonder if he'll have any new dating advice for Sam? #SamHeughan

🔥👀 JURASSIC PARK LEGEND SAM NEILL PASSES SUDDENLY AT 78. Oh no this is a tough one. I used to dress up as Dr. Grant for Halloween & was obsessed with that film. He had just announced he beat blood cancer as well after being diagnosed with years ago. He died suddenly in New Zealand. Reports are he died surrounded by his family. He has 4 children and multiple grandchildren. Fun fact he only got the role as Dr. Grant in “Jurassic Park” because Harrison Ford turned it down. He was also incredible in “Hunt for Red October”. Godspeed Mr. Neill & thank you for all you meant to my childhood among many other 90’s kids.

Happy anniversary to one of my most favourite Sam moments. I remember listening to it live and thinking, "Did he just tell every customs officer that I was smuggling whisky into Australia???" Yep. He did. Good old Sam. Man, I laughed. After I rose from the dead, of course! You try having Sam tell everyone you're fantastic and then tell a funny anecdote about you. Is it because he's your friend and you won't call out his errors? Avery quoted a chapter heading from New Advent and passed it off as Justin's own words. He was called out for it and never publicly admitted he was wrong. Is your loyalty to Christ or Avery, Sam? I bet Sam will go quiet because he doesn't want to admit his friend Avery was wrong. Sam Larry went live on Instagram after the serious accident that happened this afternoon on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road. In the live, he opened up emotionally and said: “Ever since the death of Mohbad I’ve not been having peace of mind. This thought came to my mind not to go anywhere today but I insist.” He continued reflecting on how the loss of Mohbad has weighed heavily on him ever since, leaving him restless and without inner peace. He mentioned that today he had a strong feeling or warning in his spirit not to step out, but he went ahead anyway — and the accident happened. He spoke about the shock of the crash, how his vehicle rammed into a trailer, and the tragic loss of his associate (identified in reports as Wale or Wole) who died on the spot. Sam Larry himself was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Graham Linehan has been cleared of harassing a trans activist on social media, but convicted of criminal damage after knocking the militant activist’s phone out of his hand when it was thrust into his face. The police, unsurprisingly, failed to handle this incident with the impartiality we would expect and immediately took the side of the trans activist. The FSU will be supporting Graham as he appeals this verdict and will cover his legal costs in full.

Walter Hill on working with Sam Peckinpah for "The Getaway" (1973): "I thought of the films I wrote, 'The Getaway' (1973) was far and away the best one, and most interesting. I thought Sam did a few things while shooting that were terrific. When they jump on the bus after they buy the gun, I just had them take the bus out of town. Sam had the bus circle around and come back through. That heightened the tension. I thought the stuff with the veterinarian got too broad and too sadistic for the rest of the film. But again I thought it was good film. It was not reviewed very well, but a huge hit. Biggest hit Sam ever had.... He would always say we did this one for the money which is one of those kind of half truths... He was well paid and the movie made a lot of money and the fact it was about the only film where his points meant anything; he took a fair amount of money out, too. It’s too often true that the people who deserve recognition do not receive it. #SamHeughan is one of those people. There would be no #OutlanderSTARZ without him. His incredible talent has allowed the show to span ten years and 7 seasons, with an 8th season yet to come. And he has done that with little support from the show runners or STARZ. After reading remarks by Matt and Maril, the second half of S7 will apparently have few episodes or storylines that feature Jamie, that feature Sam. So whether I watch when it’s first released is still up in the air but one thing I will always appreciate and cherish is the immensely talented and heartfelt portrayal of the iconic Jamie Fraser that made me a fan of Sam and his many other roles and projects. 🚨 BREAKING: Sam Elliot, or should I say Sam "Sellout" Elliot, has teamed up with the Lincoln Project (you know, the folks who couldn't find integrity if it was handed to them on a silver platter) for a new ad that poorly attempts to bash Trump and paint Kamala Harris as the Messiah. They're pushing for Kamala "Hope and Change" Harris. First off, Hope and Change? Really, Sam Elliot? You guys are about as original as a sequel to a sequel. Obama called, he wants his slogan back! But let's be real, after nearly four years of Kamala, the only change we're hoping for is to change the channel back to when America had hope, peace, and prosperity under Trump! Sam Elliot, with that mustache looking like a dusty push broom, is telling us Trump will divide us? Newsflash, Sam Eliot: America's more divided now than a high school cafeteria. And wasn't it the Democrats who promised unity? Last I checked, unity doesn't mean "agree with us or else." And let's chat about Sam's fan base. Here he is, pushing away every cowboy, trucker, and patriot who ever loved him in "Tombstone" or "The Big Lebowski". Now, his new audience? They're probably sipping on Pumpkin Spice Soy Lattes with Rainbow Unicorn Sprinkles while binge-watching reruns of "Queer as Folk". Not exactly the Tombstone crowd, huh, Sam? The Lincoln Project, founded by George "Who?" Conway, seems to think they're still relevant. They're like that one-hit-wonder band still trying to play at dive bars. And now, they've got Sam Elliot, whose voice used to stand for rugged American individualism, now just echoes the hollow chambers of the left's echo chamber. And let's not forget, while Sam's busy narrating this ad, he might want to check if his mustache isn't blocking his view of reality. Trump brought us together with jobs, security, and a border. Terrence Stamp on Federico Fellini & how he got cast in "Spirits of the Dead" (1968): "Stamp: Fellini had been approached a lot when he was in London by Peter O’Toole. O’Toole had met him at lunches and things and said we must do something together, so [Fellini] did write it with Peter O’Toole in mind. But when he sent the screenplay to Peter, Peter read it and said “I don’t want to be in this.” So [Fellini] called a casting director called Dyson Lovell and said “Send me your most decadent actors.” I was one of the decadent ones that went, and that was how I met him. Interviewer: What was Fellini like? Stamp: He was just everything and more – I think he was one of the most wonderful human beings I’ve ever met. And he bore witness to his talent. He wasn’t one of these guys who makes great movies like Antonioni, who’s like this dry, boring academic in real life. He was full of life – funny and witty and smart, and adorable to hang out with. It's almost too bright after everything before it. Frodo opens his eyes in a clean bed, light everywhere, and the first face he sees is Gandalf. For a second you understand why people joke that Frodo thought he'd died. The last time he saw Gandalf, the wizard was falling into the dark of Moria. Waking after Mount Doom to find him standing there, smiling, has to feel impossible. It isn't only a reunion. It's the return of someone Frodo had already grieved. Then the others come in, one by one. Gimli. Aragorn. Legolas. Merry. Pippin. The Fellowship is back, but not all of it. Boromir isn't there, and the gap sits quietly under the joy in the room. They survived. Not all of them did. That's what makes it land. The film lets itself be happy, but never simply. These aren't the same people who left Rivendell. Frodo's being celebrated as a hero, and his face is carrying something heavier than victory. Then Sam walks in. And it changes. The score turns toward the Shire theme, and Frodo's reaction goes somewhere the others didn't. He's glad to see everyone. But the look he gives Sam says what words can't. Sam isn't one more friend coming through the door. Sam is the reason Frodo reached the end at all. The world will remember Frodo as the Ring-bearer. Frodo knows who carried him when he couldn't carry himself. That's why it still lands. It gives you laughter, reunion, one last look at the whole Fellowship together.
