Sam Vecenie from the Atheltic on the Brooklyn Nets draft: “I don’t get why they did 3 lead guards…I would be more open to it …if 1 or 2 could shoot. I don’t think any of these guys can play together effectively on a NBA court right now.”

Powell, Traore and Demin can play together. The main guy who doesn’t fit is Saraf. That’s the most puzzling pick by far.

You’re not drafting them for how they play together on the court right now

Sam Vecenie is the guy who had Johnny Davis as the 5th best player in the 2022 draft right? Think we’re ok with him not having the vision to see what the Nets are doing.

It seems Sean and Joe haven't changed their old playbook which is hoard assets and bank on untapped prospects with big flaws so that at most they become rotation or role players that a star would eventually want to join 👀 🧐....

Niggas need to go to Long Island G league

They're all developmental pieces. Which, if you're trynna tank another year, fits right into what you need. They're not here to win games right now.

I guess we’ll see how good our coaches are (they are good)

It's like something I read in another tweet, Marks and Fernandez are trying to prove they are smartest guys in the room. It's conceivable that if these picks don't work out, Joe Tsai is going to have to make a decision on both. Summer league is going to be interesting to watch.

We just reviewed why the Nets chose those 5 specific players. Playing exactly to Jordi Fernandez's coaching style and the way that he and Marks want the team to play moving forward:

Traore, Demin, and Saraf can all play together. All of them will benefit from playing next to another ball handler who will give each other easy looks. Why are we pretending like these guys can’t be good shooters one day lol
