it has a combination of isolated hinge rotation with a fake collision mechanism and there's a separated chain with the damped track setup to transfer that to the main chain with a switch to toggle on and off

Damped track setup with a switch. It's a hack but it works in some scenarios. I tried to integrate it with real physics but it would take way longer, but it can work if planning to bake after the animation is done
