At Defend Our Juries protest, a brave elderly woman holding a placard reading ‘'I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action’' was surrounded and arrested by police. More protestors were arrested as the demonstration continued. This is how the state punishes protestors, criminalises solidarity, and protects genocide.

Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr ruled today that “Palestine Action promotes unlawful violence amounting to terrorism.” She went on to say that “It is not as it claims, a direct action for civil disobedience protest group like the suffragettes.” The judges also agreed it was “an organisation engaged in causing serious damage to property, using weapons, including sledgehammers.” This comes after three judges ruled in February that the then home secretary Yvette Cooper’s decision to proscribe Palestine Action under the Terrorism Act 2000 last year was unlawful.

Thousands out in London today to protest the genocide in Gaza. Hundreds of brave protesters were arrested for holding up signs saying, "I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action". Shame on the UK govt for silencing peaceful dissent & enabling the genocidal Israeli regime.
