I’ve been with my grandmother all day. My grandmother’s health can no longer endure much… She suffers from several illnesses, high blood pressure, diabetes, and this cold weather only worsens her condition and exhausts her fragile body. She can’t take it anymore… and today, we all felt that we might lose her at any moment. I need $1,000 to cover her medical tests, treatment costs, warm clothing, and healthy food. I write these words with tears filling my eyes because I am unable to provide this amount to save my grandmother from danger and ease the pain that haunts her day and night. A year and a day ago, I lost a very special friend. What started through Make-A-Wish became a friendship I’ll always treasure. Daily, I would get a video or text from her and her friends…She brought so much joy into my life, and I miss hearing from her. I have yet to break the habit of waiting for a video from her. They truly made me smile. When I learned she wasn’t doing well, I got on a plane to Minnesota to be with her. She passed while I was in the air. Her family showed me a kindness I’ll never forget by letting me say goodbye. They also gave me her favorite blanket and the journal she kept about our time together. I still haven’t been able to read it. One day, I will. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about her. She reminded everyone around her how much light one person can bring into their day and their lives, no matter how short their time here. Missing you always. ❤️

One of the scariest experiences of a mother's life, seeing your child hurting. All I wanted to do was swap places with Lauren. This is just after her brain surgery, even then we had no idea if we'd ever get our Lauren back again. Seeing her like this was terrifying. She has been so brave and I am so proud of her for all she's been through. We love you so much Lauren. Xxxx
