Say what you will about Sammy Sosa his steroids and whitening cream but the man loved America

He’s off the cream and looks normal now. Couldn’t believe it

Bingo

2001-the last time I can recall this country being united 💪

I watched that game. Gave me chills then and still does.

And less than 15 years later players started kneeling in front of it.

Sadly if 9/11 happened today half the country would lecture us about how we deserved it.

He talked about this specifically last week on @barstoolchicago. As a Cubs fan I loved the whole thing but this part was particularly good.

The world we grew up in no longer exists.

Thanks for sharing this. I still remember how the whole country was so united after 9/11…we didn’t care about republican or democrat or independent, we were all Americans grieving and supporting each other. Kinda sad to see how far we’ve drifted away from that over these past 25 years

Shameless plug: Check out my bestselling book Confidence-Maxxing.

He would probably get cancelled nowadays

I've never felt more proud to be an American than on 9-12-2001. Driving to work I saw a lone man dressed as a patriot standing on an overpass holding a flag. Everyone honked. On 9-13-01 he had a 100 people with him. Couldn't buy a flag anywhere. Didn't last, it was beautiful 🇺🇲

I remember that...still super cool!

Back when our sports persona's could be looked up to as heros. Now we have racist communisim supporters, like Lebaron James......

I remember watching the this live, mixed emotions with sadness and America on your backs together as 1! United we stand!

I remember watching this..I jumped out of my chair clapping, my husband didn’t know what I was doing…

Sad to know how many kneel now for this!

Oh yeah, real one.

@grok what song is playing in the back ground here. I know it but cant place what movie it's from

@grok The mighty rio grande

@grok Ty man

He knows and appreciates which country made him a very rich man.

Sadly, Sammy would be considered a racist/nazi today.

I was at that game. ❤️

Just a great man.

Now this would be considered far right or even fascist ..to the extreme

Ok Sosa, that makes up for the corked bat..

Hauling ass to boot!

I haven’t forgotten that. Not much good came from 9/11, but the feeling of patriotism and togetherness is unmatched against any other event, personally.

The epeSTIEN class got away with 9/11

I miss having a corner fielder like Sammy. His energy, his sprints out to right field is something fans yearn to see again everyday in Chicago.

Makes me cry 🥹 ❤️🇺🇸
America where you can be anything you want to be!

Inject this video into my veins

No expense spared on that convenience store flag.

$100M Fine if someone did that in a game today.
