Between the City of San Diego, County of San Diego, and SANDAG, there could several tax increases on the 2026 ballot: -City of SD sales tax -City of SD bedroom tax on airbnb and 2nd homes -County of SD sales tax -County of SD transfer tax -SANDAG sales tax Until government agencies undergo major structural reform to get back to the basics, more tax and fee increases are likely on the way.

I went back to the Tijuana River in San Diego County. Raw sewage and toxic waste STILL flowing freely into our state from Mexico. Gavin Newsom has STILL not declared a state of emergency, as local leaders demand. It is completely unacceptable. As governor I WILL declare a state of emergency so we can bring an end to this scandal.

Today, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors failed to take action to repeal its reckless super sanctuary policy, which keeps convicted criminals in our communities instead of being deported. This policy protects criminals—including rapists, child abusers, burglars, and violent offenders—who are in this country illegally. Instead of holding them accountable, it allows them to be released back onto our streets. San Diego County remains one of the only places in the nation with such an extreme policy.

Because Dane County is a sanctuary county, local officials could release him back into the community. DHS is urging the county to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. As governor, you won’t have to worry about predators like this being released. I will ban sanctuary jurisdictions and ensure criminal aliens are removed.
