Hi Amy, I think the key point is not about the bat boxes, but about the wider loss of habitat. Bats, including barbastelle, might use a bat box, but to thrive that box needs to be in the right location.

These 60 year old uncles were a menace when I was a kid and they are still a menace. They come to park in groups to gossip and complain about everything under the sun and literally bully children who are there to play. And then these same uncles complain that children don't play these days and they are on their phones all the time.
