Mental health struggles, pouring everything into her job, and a broken relationship with food and movement all came first. She’s now treating her ADHD, working on her mindset around eating, and moving more consistently. GLP-1 meds might reduce her weight, but they don’t touch what’s really driving it: how she thinks, her mental health, and her relationship with food and herself. It’s amazing what trash TikTok has become. I used to browse it for content, it was always stupid, but now it’s all just obvious AI slop with idiots who believe it. Here’s a story with 53K likes, about a black guy who tries to rob a woman, but she’s an MMA fighter, so beats him up and then gets sued. The video opens with the black kid’s mother angry that her son was just trying to rob the woman and she viciously beat him. Replies are people saying she should be in jail too. They don’t notice that the female MMA fighter is a different woman at the beginning and end of the video. I thought X gave me a depressing picture of how stupid people are. This website is the faculty lounge of MIT compared to TikTok. But it’s such obvious nonsense that it gives me hope that anyone with enough of a brain to be influential will have no connection to sites that end up like this.
