I'd suggest the two things that have caused the greatest number of genuinely good people to sprint away from (or at least apathetically-lapse away from) Christianity in recent decades would be the increasingly aggressive attempt to turn it into a leftist 'social justice' movement, and Christian Zionists believing the Rothschild state of Israel represents biblical Israel, and those we today call 'Jews' are 'God's chosen'. It pains me to even see some in my own extended family stumble down this path - so helped along by the near total takeover of church leadership, in recent decades. If they had any idea the sheer amount of pure evil they've helped enable.. many would never forgive themselves.
