Satoshi emails from 2010 discussed quantum computers and SHA-256 potential break — Jack Mallers. "None of this is new. None of this was missed or not considered. Satoshi even said some of this technology would need upgrades, and that's fine".

the fact that satoshi was thinking about this in 2010 when quantum was still purely theoretical says a lot about the design philosophy.

The threat isn't just whether quantum computers get powerful enough. It's whether the ecosystem upgrades in time 💀😓

Just like every other software will need upgrades… You’re all fucking stupid to think ₿itcoin will be the first thing attacked. Retards. Watch someone take over your whole country instead.

the crypto was never the hard part, Mitch nailed it, consensus is. Satoshi's own fix was 'lock that in and continue from there with a new hash function', which sounds simple until 100,000 nodes have to agree on the date.

I don’t know who you talk to but like they say you can’t take bitcoin and not be able to track it no matter were or who steals it I wonder how true that is

People really acting like its only BTC and that BTC is the concern. What is stopping quantum from launching the nukes?

量子这事难的不是算法会不会被破,而是升级要多久才能达成共识。中本聪早就说过需要升级,真正的考验是让全网一起动。

Every few years a new 'this kills Bitcoin' threat shows up. Held through all of them since $14K. Turns out Satoshi read the inspection report first.

Good to see the long view here. Upgrades being part of the plan is a strength. The smart move is to build migration paths early, test them in the open, and let people move on their own schedule long before any deadline matters.

ok cool how can we trust that satoshi is not a fictional character? dont trust verify. After the democide of the vaxed i can not trust someone like (satoshi) an anon. His $Bitcoin was over taken by pedophiles like Jeffery Epstein and pierce. its incredibly dirty , every btc

It isn’t “fine”. The upgrades required are anathema to most Bitcoiners (larger block sizes etc). And what should we do about 35% of supply that is going to get hacked? Once that happens the protocol will essentially collapse.
