ISLAMABAD: 10 April 2026. Prime Minister’s Meeting with H.E. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Finance Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Finance Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who was on a one-day visit to Islamabad called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House this evening. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and his delegation to Pakistan amid reaffirming Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties across multiple sectors, including trade, economic development, infrastructure and reconstruction, and promoting peace and stability in the region. During his opening remarks at the delegation-level talks, the Prime Minister said it was a great pleasure to receive the Iranian President in Islamabad and thanked him for accepting his invitation to visit Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said, “I have no doubt that the brave and resilient people of Iran, with their immense capabilities and natural resources, will transform their country into a flourishing economy.” Pakistan and Iran would continue joint efforts to achieve shared prosperity, he added. Islamabad : 28 July 2026. A U.S. Congressional delegation, comprising Rep. Ryan Zinke and Rep. Michael Baumgartener, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister House this afternoon. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch, and U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Ms. Natalie Baker were also present. During the meeting, the Prime Minister welcomed both U.S. Congressmen to Pakistan and said that their visit was a welcome step towards building stronger Pakistan-U.S. ties. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in his address to the federal cabinet today, said that for the first time in the last 47 years, the US and brotherly country Iran had held the highest level of direct talks in Islamabad hosted and brokered by Pakistan with complete facilitation. He further added that the Islamabad Talks helped thinned away the clouds of war affecting the entire region with prospects of peace. He said when going down the annals of history, they could learn that Oslo Accord, Geneva Accord, Good Friday Accord and Sudan internal fighting etc; took years to end armed conflicts and ensure peace. “I bear witness that during the 21 hours delegations levels talks both sides (US-Iran) for the first time in history, negotiated directly,” he added. The prime minister mentioned in his remarks that the country’s leadership worked hard and as result of their sincere efforts, ceasefire was still intact while efforts were afoot to resolve the sticking issues between two sides. Terming Islamabad Talks as ‘a historic event’, he said Pakistan hosted the global event to bring about a truce and ensure peace at a time when the global economy was in turmoil. He further said US delegation led by Vice President JD Vance and Iranian side led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf visited Pakistan on their request, and expressed his gratitude to the dearest brother Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and US President Donald Trump for accepting Pakistan’s request by agreeing upon two-week ceasefire. The prime minister said in the past in early 70s, Pakistan had also played a role between China and the US. The US and Iran delegations had also appreciated Pakistan’s role and its sincerity. The credit for the positive and historic achievement went to the entire nation, he added. He mentioned that he received a call from the Japanese prime minister and other European countries' leaders who had appreciated Pakistan’s role and peace efforts. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed confidence that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Iran and the United States would evolve into a long-term agreement following 60 days of technical-level dialogue, helping ensure peace and stability across the world. Addressing the National Assembly, the prime minister congratulated the nation on a historic development, saying that the MoU had been signed by Iran and the United States, with Pakistan serving as a mediator. "It is a historic moment that Pakistan signed the MoU as a mediator between Iran and the United States," he remarked. The prime minister informed the House that the leadership of both countries participated in a high-level committee meeting in Burgenstock, Switzerland, a couple of days ago. He said Pakistan made sincere efforts to facilitate dialogue and reconciliation between the two sides, resulting in the preparation of a joint statement. He said a ceasefire between Iran and the United States had come into effect and that technical-level talks would continue over the next 60 days. Congratulating the nation, Shehbaz Sharif described Pakistan's role in securing the truce as historic, adding that the country's efforts had received widespread recognition in international media. "The respect Pakistan has earned around the world through this achievement could not have been bought even by spending billions," he said. Prime Minister Mr. Ajay Banga, President, World Bank Group (WBG) calls on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad today. Prime Minister welcomed Mr. Ajay Banga at his first official visit as President of the World Bank Group. The Prime Minister appreciated the World Bank Group for its long-standing partnership with Pakistan and its commitment to supporting the development priorities of the country especially through the 10-year World Bank Group Country Partnership Framework (CPF). The Premier also appreciated Mr.Banga's leadership in transforming the World Bank Group into more impactful development partner. Prime Minister stated that Government of Pakistan is vigorously working on economic reform agenda with multi-pronged comprehensive structural home grown program aimed at sustainable economic stability. The Prime Minister appreciated the support of the World Bank Group in resilient infrastructure, agribusiness, digital development, energy, human capital, fiscal reforms, and increasing productive private investment for job creation and growth. Prime Minister and Mr.Banga reiterated the need to fast-track implementation and ensure strong oversight to deliver impact at speed and scale on CPF-aligned priorities. These measures would duly assist Prime Minister’s initiative to address and resolve Implementation Bottlenecks in development projects. The Prime Minister expressed the government’s commitment to structural reforms that would unlock job-rich growth and further strengthen investors' confidence. Mr. Ajay Banga expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for his reception and hospitality in Pakistan. Mr. Ajay Banga commended Government of Pakistan’s ongoing reform efforts and reaffirmed his commitment to deepening cooperation through a One World Bank Group approach. He added that greater leverage of private resources, in addition to strong coordination with development partners, is necessary to meet the ambition of the government’s reform agenda.

Istanbul: 4 july 2026. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who is on an official visit to Istanbul, Turkiye, held a bilateral meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at Vahdettin Palace in Istanbul today. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar along with other ministers and senior officials from both sides. During their warm and cordial meeting, the two leaders reaffirmed the historic and brotherly ties binding Pakistan and Türkiye, and expressed their shared satisfaction at the positive trajectory of bilateral relations. They engaged in comprehensive discussions on the entire range of issues and expressed their common resolve to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye, with special emphasis on trade and investment, energy cooperation, off shore and onshore petroleum exploration, mines and minerals, and information technology. In this regard, both leaders reaffirmed their desire to realize the mutually agreed trade target of USD 5 billion. The two leaders also exchanged views on important regional and global developments. President Erdoğan appreciated Pakistan’s mediation efforts between Iran and the US that resulted in the signing of the historic Islamabad MoU. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif thanked President Erdogan for his strong support for Pakistan’s peace efforts. The two leaders also appreciated the close diplomatic coordination between the two countries during the peace process and underscored the importance of sustained efforts to ensure durable and lasting peace in the region. The two leaders also reaffirmed Pakistan and Turkiye's steadfast support for each other's core issues. While looking forward to the 8th HLSCC meeting that would be held in Turkiye later this year, the Prime Minister extended a warm and cordial invitation to President Erdogan to undertake a visit to Pakistan.
