The plane made an initial left turn west before making another left turn east towards the airport approx. five minutes after takeoff. The plane then flew a left base turn to runway 28. The initial point of impact was a runway light stanchion located ~1800 ft from the runway threshold. The plane then impacted trees, two other light stanchions, and the airport perimeter fence short of the runway threshold before coming to rest near the runway threshold. All four corners of the airplane was well as flight control surfaces have been identified in the wreckage/debris field, and both engines were present with the main wreckage. The majority of the fuselage and inboard wing sections were consumed by the post-impact fire. Visual meteorological conditions included drizzle and broken ceilings. The wind was calm with five statute miles visibility.
