@joerogan 30 minutes in a 90C sauna is pretty long, I know the health benefits, but the edge is for me 20 minutes. I can see it looking at my heartrate

@joerogan @saunatracker notifies you when you’re in each of these phases during your sauna session! We just rolled out the update.

@joerogan 4–7x/week, 20–30 min at 80–100°C = major brain, heart & recovery benefits. Sauna is elite.

@joerogan Sauna is the greatest health hack. It's kinda like cheating on exercise. Always hydrate with mineral salts after a sauna.

@joerogan What temperature is that based on? My sauna is at 200F-220F when I use it and I feel like 20 minutes is the most I should do at that temperature.

@joerogan I turn off wherever anyone claims you “sweat off toxins” because you can rarely trust the rest of their technical claims. That pathway is passive and insignificant relative to active hepatic and renal functions.

@joerogan Do you have similar benefits from steam or is the dry heat a critical element?

@Trig3759 @joerogan Steam takes longer as steam rooms are usually 104F whereas saunas are usually 130-220F.

@joerogan But he’s right about sauna being the best - 104.9 degree hot tubs probably being the best choice according to recent research.

@joerogan You should jump on the sauna culture wave and open a place in KC...

@joerogan Do you have an opinion on infrared versus traditional? I would think traditional would be the way to go?

@joerogan @grok is the dry sauna or steam sauna? Does steam sauna provide same benefits and same timeline?

@joerogan Time has nothing to do with. It all depends on your body temperature.

@joerogan Sweating out pcp's, highly unlikely. Grand claims that don't make sense, disqualify the rest of the claims.

@joerogan Sweating primarily cools the body and removes small amounts of salt and water, not significant toxins. Detoxification is mainly handled by the liver and kidneys.

Hi James! Thank you for your great content. I have one question. If you go into the sauna for 15 minutes then get out for a 30 second cold shower then get back in for another 15 minutes. Do you get full benefits for the 30 minutes or just the first 15 and then it kinda resets everything? Thanks.

@joerogan 30 minutes straight seems tough! I do 15 minutes in, get out and stretch for a few minutes before getting in for another 15 minutes. I wonder how that impacts the blood sugar benefits?
