Boomers didn't live through the depression and WWII but their parents did, and they were taught an appreciation for what those sacrifices meant. Each successive generation since has had too much handed to them without merit, without discipline, without responsibility, without consequences, without any sense of gratitude. Sadly this has also robbed them of any true sense of self-esteem and belonging, that no amount of money, fame, possessions or SM 'likes' can ever provide. The "humanity" is being stolen from the human race, along with all our freedoms.

People got sorted out weekly years ago. There were no cameras, nobody intervened. Half the time the cops would hear the recap, decide justice was served and roll out with zero charges applied. Things have changed. People feel like their phones are Magic wands that allow them to disrespect anyone. It’s a false sense of reality.

You're spot on. Back in the late '70s and early '80s, we all got into a few fights growing up. Once you realize your actions can lead to physical consequences, you think twice before jumping into something impulsively. I lost a few of those fights, and every time, it was totally my fault. I learned my lesson right then and there. These days, people aren't getting that same lesson, and they're growing up soft, like mushy, wet hotdog buns. It's like they're not learning the hard way anymore, and that's a problem.

Well this starts with parents taking utter guff from their entitled, spoiled, disrespectful little shit kids instead of handing out discipline because it might bruise their little egos. We had the ear. You started mouthing off to me and your ear got grabbed and you got dragged to the corner and you sat there until you could speak respectfully. Out in public and you’re being a shit? The ear. Snag and drag to the car and we went home. Where they stood in the corner until they could speak respectfully. Did it hurt? A bit. Did it control behavior? A lot. Was it cruel? No, because while I might have been angry, I was also acting from love. And no child of mine was going to be someone who missed a partner or opportunities because they were a pain in the ass if I could help it. Yes I raised my kids to be good partners. Discipline is not a cake walk. It’s the balanced consequences of bad behavior, choices and decisions. It’s the currency of love and guidance for your kids and it teaches the most valuable lesson a parent can teach: forgiveness.
