But if Russia is no longer able to use any of those ports, and they’ve already had to move Black Sea Fleet out of Sevastopol, it still has airfields there and other military capabilities. If Ukrainians are able to isolate peninsula, Kerch Bridge is eventually going to come down. I’m confident. So when they take out ferries, take out that bridge, or make Russians worry that it is not safe or usable, then isolation of Crimea leads to its loss of real value to Russians, at least for a while. In the meantime, Ukrainians will continue to hit airfields and air defense systems there. I would not anticipate any time soon a direct assault of some sort. They don’t need to do that right now, but I am confident it’s still on their objective list.
